EPISODE THREE. Friday Night Bites"Scumbag. Scum bucket," Jenna muttered, causing Cassandra to become confused as she approached from behind.
"Who are you talking to, Jenna?" Cassie asked, surprising her with her sudden presence.
"Him," Jenna pointed at the TV, where the news reporter, Logan Fell, was reporting on the 'animal' attacks taking place. Cassie hummed in response, nodding her head as she moved closer to her aunt.
"The news guy?" Elena asked, entering the room from the kitchen with a cup of coffee in her hand.
"Also known as Logan 'Scum' Fell," Jenna turned to the sisters. "Did your mom ever tell you why I moved away from Mystic Falls?"
"Oh, no way," Elena laughed. "You and him? He's cute."
"He is not cute in the slightest way," Cassie told her sister.
"That's because you're a lesbian."
"I'm a lesbian, not blind," Cassie replied.
"There's nothing cute about him," Jenna confirmed, turning off the TV. She then noticed Elena sitting down at the table, holding an ancient box. "What are you doing with that?"
Elena began cleaning antiques with a cloth. "I went yesterday and retrieved it from the safe deposit box. Mom had told Mrs. Lockwood that she would lend it to the Founder's Council for their heritage display."
"Isn't that Grandma Beth's ring?" Cassie asked, leaning over Jenna, who was leaning over the table, and grabbed a ring from the box.
"Originally, it was Great-Great-Grandma Mary's wedding ring," Elena explained to her sister, just as Jeremy walked into the kitchen.
"How much do you think this stuff is worth?" Jeremy asked, grabbing something from the box. "You know, like on eBay?"
Elena gave him a look before snatching it out of his hand. "You're not going to find out."
"That stuff belongs to Mom and Dad. You can't just give it away," Jeremy said, walking into the kitchen.
"She's not giving it away, Jere, she's loaning it," Cassie told her younger brother, as the doorbell rang. "Who could that be this early in the morning?" she asked, walking towards the front door to answer it. When she did, she was greeted by Stefan, who gave her a warm smile that she did not reciprocate.
"Hi," Stefan said.
"Elena, your boyfriend is here," Cassie rolled her eyes as she moved away from Stefan, and Elena approached him with a smile, kissing him passionately.
"Gross," Cassie said, walking upstairs to where Cecelia was getting dressed in the clothes she had packed from the previous day. "Well, good morning to you too."
