Why was her boyfriend not answering her calls or texts? Did he finally realize how much trouble she was? He should've listened to her from the start. She had such high hopes for Cheng Ge but she guess it just proves that all male pro gamers are the same, uncaring. The moment she needed him the most, he chose to ignore her. She's determined, for her pride and dignity, that she will be the person to end this relationship before he dumps her. His reputation can take it, in fact his fans will love him even more for it. First thing first though, she needs to get out of here, where everywhere she looks reminds her of him and she can't think. She took out her phone and texted Xiao Rui to request a 3 day leave.

TY: [Rui Ge, something urgent came up. I need 3 days leave. I promise to take my laptop and keep up with training.]

XR: [ Ah? is everything ok? Have you cleared it with Cheng Ge?]

TY: [.....it's too urgent I don't have time to clear it with the captain yet.]

XR: [ok, 3 days. Be careful and mind your safety.]

TY: [Thanks Rui Ge]

With the approval, she went onto her phone and booked a hotel that looked clean and was available for tonight check-in as well as a cab. After receiving a confirmation from both, she quickly and quietly packs a weekend bag. She hopes that everyone has gone to bed already. She really doesn't want to be caught by any of the boys, especially Cheng Ge. Quietly she exited her room when the cab and notified her that a cab was approaching. She was relieved to see that all the lights were off at the base as that meant everyone had gone back to their room. She tiptoed her way down the stairs and out the front door just in time for the cab to pull up in the front.

The cab started to pull out of the cab when Tong Yao pulled out her phone and opened her text messages. Her finger hovers over her captain's icon. She debated if she would text him now or when she got to the hotel. It was like she was frozen in time and she was in her own universe. Nothing else mattered. She then was drawn out of her trance from the door of the cab opening, signaling that she had arrived at her hotel. She quickly put on a face mask and got out, thanking the cab driver and taking her bags, and went to the hotel to check in. After quickly finding her room and settling in, her fingers were once again hovering his profile picture when her phone suddenly vibrated. Mention the devil and he appears.

LSC: [where did you go?]

oh, so now he cares. She debated on what to text him back. After a while, she decided that the best plan is to be forward about it. She summoned all the bravery she could muster and texted him back.

TY: [Cheng Ge, let's take a break for a little while}

After sending that text, all of the bravery had left her body. Not brave enough to see his reply, she turned off notification for his texts and closed her text messages. She needed to clear her head. It had only been a couple of months since she had joined ZGDX and it felt as though years of events had hit her all at once. She had felt overwhelmed. Team XGDX. Besides the Lu Yue incident, there has never been a scandal involving them, especially their captain: Lu Si Cheng. But it seems as though ever since she had joined, XGDX were on the headlines week after week. Was she really cut out for this lifestyle? All she wants to do is go with her team to victory whether it's a regional or international championship. She just wanted to play with them. She doesn't care about fame and while the money was nice, she doesn't need it. Gaming is her passion and to be able to find people who also think that way was really special to her. Her phone ringtone went off, bringing her out of her trance.

***Incoming call: My captain <3***

She stared at her phone, not brave enough to answer. She knows, as soon as she hears his voice, all of her barriers would come down. One missed call. Two missed calls. Three missed calls. Four missed calls. She watched as her phone flashed his name then went dark four times before she guessed he gave up. Finding no more energy to keep sitting, she went under the cover of the hotel bed and snuggled in. She should've brought her cats, at least they would keep her company. The next person to call her was Jian Yang. Her captain must have texted Ai Jia for her number. Finding some bravery, she hesitantly answered the phone.

TY: Hello?

CJY: Sister, where are you? You know your captain is going crazy looking for you?

TY: Oh. I just went out to clear my head. I'm ok.

CJY: What happened? You want to talk?

TY: Maybe tomorrow. Tonight I just want to be alone.

CJY: Ok, text me tomorrow morning when you wake up. good night.

TY: Good night.

After hanging up with Jin Yang, she was glad her best friend didn't pry and left her to dwell on her own thoughts, at least for today. Feeling the exhaustion of the day and the heavy thoughts, Tong Yao drifted to a dreamless sleep.
