The fire temple was welcoming and calm, but it held secrets that Zurath somehow knew.
Why did he have knowledge of the dragon grotto? Who knows.
But Syzoth and the rest of the group were brought to the Wu Shi except for Zurath, Liu Kang had questions for him.
"Hello, Lord Liu Kang."
Zurath said, bowing to the god.
"You wanted to speak to me?"
He asked, clearly a bit nervous.
"Ah, Zurath. Hello, I did in fact, want to speak to you."
Liu Kang said with a slight smile, he watched as Zurath sat in front of him.
"I must say... your visit was, unexpected. I didn't expect you."
He said, sipping some of his tea.
"Tea?"
He offered Zurath some tea, which Zurath accepted.
"Thank you."
Zurath said, smiling at Liu Kang.
"You are welcome, Zurath."
Liu Kang just stared at Zurath, trying to inspect him somehow.
"You don't look familiar. You are Outworlder, yet your appearance is that of an Earthrealm teen."
He raised an eyebrow at Zurath's clothing. Long leather coat, a lace top, and leather pants. He stood out in Outworld like a sore thumb, but in Earthrealm? He'd blend right in.
"Well, I've visited Earthrealm on more than one occasion..."
Zurath admitted, scratching his head.
"...you know of the other portals?"
Liu Kang asked. If Zurath had used the main portal in Sun Do, he'd be teleported to the fire temple.
"I do, yes. I have knowledge of all of their locations."
Zurath said, gulping in nervousness.
"How could you possess such power?"
Liu Kang asked, his eyebrows raising in suspicion.
"Well, the souls used to create me... I guess I inherited their knowledge, too. I know everything from Outworld's history, family lineage, and even the best recipes."
Zurath said with a smile, he only seemed to like knowing the recipes.
"Interesting."
Liu Kang narrowed his eyes.
"Kung Lao has told me that you are Shang Tsung's son. Enlighten me on that, I had never planned on him having a son."
He said, before realising he slipped up.
"I'm sorry, I misspoke. I didn't know he had one."
Zurath chuckled.
"It's alright, Lord Liu Kang. I know you are the keeper of time. One of your old allies, King Valtu of Outworld's soul gave me that knowledge."
...how? Zurath knew? This was dangerous.
"I—I don't know what do say, Zurath. It seems that you are far too dangerous to let live."
Liu Kang said, sitting up and looking at Zurath.
"Tell me what you know, and I shall consider keeping you an ally."
He demanded, as Zurath complied.
He revealed secrets, Outworld's history, and other battles that were lost in history.
