Leixia was distraught, Syzoth was... in another relationship?
"Are you serious, Zurath? He's in love with another woman?"
She said, sounding... sad. She'd been thinking about Syzoth for practically forever!
She'd kept her purity for him, she hadn't even seen another man (Zurath is an exemption).
"I've waited for so many years... and you're telling me this?"
She sighed.
"Leixia, please."
Zurath begged, trying to calm Leixia down.
"Please don't freak out when I tell you this..."
He sighed, sitting Leixia down on a bench.
"Syzoth... he had a family, Leixia. A wife and a son."
He watched as Leixia's face dropped.
"But my father... he killed them."
He comforted his best friend, rubbing her shoulders.
"He... but, our promise..."
Leixia sobbed, realising that all her efforts went to waste.
The Lotus Priestesses weren't bound to chastity. Some priestesses even have husbands and families, so Leixia's vow to keeping her purity for Syzoth was... admirable.
"Leixia..."
Zurath sighed.
"He still loves you, he still thinks about you, Leixia. You'll always have a place in his heart, you're his one and only."
He tried to reassure her, before she tells him to leave.
"I understand, Leixia. Please, keep your head up."
He smiled, before leaving to find Priestess Xyra.
He did, and he eventually managed to get her to Liu Kang.
With her aid, they'd get an upper hand in the supposed "war" that was gonna take place soon.
THE BATTLE WAS WON.
Liu Kang's allies won the battle, as they had the upper hand and strategy.
But now, a year had gone by.
Syzoth and Ashrah's relationship had stepped into... betrothal. Their wedding was in a week.
Zurath was appointed as Empress Mileena's Imperial Scout, and Syzoth was appointed as the Empress' Emissary.
Their friendship was degrading with each day, they'd practically be strangers at the end of the year.
But... they had to work together, sadly.
"Zurath, be mature. It's time for another mission."
Syzoth sighed, getting ready for the daily patrols.
"I am mature, I just don't like you."
Zurath replied, getting up and following Syzoth.
"Why? Because I'm betrothed to Ashrah? Why don't you like her?"
Syzoth still didn't believe that Ashrah had tried to kill Zurath.
"You already know, you just don't believe me."
Zurath narrowed his eyes, scowling at Syzoth.
"Like I said, that doesn't sound like her."
Syzoth replied, getting angrier.
