Chapter 1: Destructive Dragons - part 1

quick authors note before we get started, this story will contain some custom cards that I have created. also, some effects of existing cards have also been altered (in true Yugioh anime fashion) to work better than they normally do. that's it, enjoy the story

we fade into the living room of a house in Heartland City. inside the room are three kids, two boys and one girl, alongside their mother and father. the older boy, around 10 years old, was holding a deck of Duel Monsters cards, ecstatic. the little girl, about 5 years old, held a single card in her hand, and she was beaming

Older Boy: an entire deck for me?! thanks Dad!

Little Girl: I love this card! thanks Daddy!

the father smiles as the two kids hug him. meanwhile, the third kid, a 6 year old boy, wasn't as happy as his siblings. his father had gifted his sister one of his cards, and his brother an entire deck. but what did he get? nothing. he jumped off the couch before walking upstairs into his bedroom. he sat on his bed, and sulked, before he hears a knock. his father opens the door

Father: knock knock... hey kiddo

he steps inside and sits as his son vents his frustrations

Son: I don't get it, dad... you gave Scarlett one of your best cards.. and you got Nathan an entire deck! why didn't I get anything?

his father laughs

Father: ah, you have alot to learn Brock... you want to be the best at duel monsters, correct?

the kid, now identified as Brock, nods

Brock: of course! I want to be the very best!

Father: exactly. good cards aren't easy to come by, son. but don't worry, soon enough, you'll get a deck. and it'll make you the best around

Brock's face lights up, his purple eyes widening

Brock: promise?

his father chuckles and ruffles his hair

Father: of course, you little Fiend..

that was 8 years ago

we now see Brock, sitting on a hospital bed. alot had changed in the last 8 years. when the boy turned 14 his father indeed gave him a deck, however shortly thereafter there was an accident. a car crash. Brock, alongside his mother and father, were heading home after a long day, and they got struck by an oncoming truck. Brock lost his entire right arm, finger to shoulder. his parents, didn't make it out alive. Brock, now living under the alias of Fiend, the nickname his father gave him, adjusted his prosthetic arm for a second, before pulling a handful of cards from his deck and looking them over. he grabbed an Alexandrite Dragon, his Grandtusk Dragon, and an Xyz-Raypierce. he sighed, but before he could speak to himself out loud, a familiar voice speaks up
