"Ella. She's...she's...missing." Ella's mum, Fiona, said through the sobs. Maeve was sat on the sofa beside Fiona. Maeve couldn't believe it. Her best friend, vanished. Ella wasn't like this. She had a happy life, never sad. "Have you called the police?" Maeve tried to keep back the tears. Keep strong for Fiona. Fiona's head was in her hands. She shook her head. "I...I'm going...to go...to the station...now. They won't listen to me." Fiona tried so hard to talk, but she barely could. She was scared. Fiona tried to stand up but Maeve held her back. "Okay, my mums on her way. When she gets home, I'll call them." Maeve said, rubbing Fiona's back. "Go to the station...unless they won't listen!" Fiona cried.

The front door swung open and Maeve's mum came running in. Maeve moved over the sofa so her mum could sit between them. "It's okay Fiona. I heard the news." Maeve's mum said calmly. "I need to go to the station." Fiona wiped her nose on her sleeve then stood up. "Fiona. Stay here. Please, just call the police." Maeve's mum stood up as Fiona slowly walked away. Maeve was still sat down, examining the situation. Fiona suddenly stopped by the doorway. "THEY DON'T LISTEN, AMY! THE POLICE DON'T LISTEN!" Fiona screamed. Maeve was scared. She'd never hear Fiona shout, let alone scream. Fiona turned round to see Maeve's mum's confused face. "They don't listen...Amy. I've tried to call them. They say she has just got lost in the woods again. I have her location on my phone, but it just says she's at home. She left her phone."

When Ella was 14, she went for a walk in Liverstone woods. She ended up getting lost.

"Okay, I'll go with you." Maeve said, standing up. Maeve's mum turned round, confused. "What? Maeve, I'll go down." Maeve took a sharp inhale of breath. "I'm coming with you then."

"Hello, welcome to Liverstone Police Station. Can I help you?" The lady at reception said. Maeve and her mum waited for Fiona to speak. "My daughter's missing." Fiona now had a touch of anger in her voice. "Okay, what's her name?" The lady looked at her computer. "Ella Davies." Fiona started going red. "Okay, we have already received a call on her missing. We are trying to do as much-" "YOUR DOING NOTHING!" Fiona interrupted. Maeve could feel the eyes of the people in the waiting room were on her. "Ma'am, please calm-" "MY DAUGHTER IS MISSING! AND YOU AREN'T DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT!" Fiona slammed her hand on the marble front desk. The lady on the other side of the desk looked truly horrified. "Ma'am. I'm going to need you to calm down. Unless I will need to call-" The lady was interrupted once again. "My daughter is fucking missing and your workmates are doing fuck all. I just want someone to find my daughter." Fiona had surprisingly calmed down. Her breathing was heavy and fast. Maeve looked across to her mum. Her mum looked as horrified as Maeve. "Can I just speak to someone? I want to start the search, ASAP!" Fiona banged her hand on the desk again. The lady looked at her computer, then Fiona, then back to her computer. "Okay, I'll request an appointment."
