Harry stared at his friends sitting across from him, laughing with each other. He, Hermoine, Ginny, and Ron have been sitting in the astronomy tower since lunch, enjoying the warm summer breeze and the view. They had just gotten back to Heritage yesterday, and their first classes were tomorrow.
"Guys," Harry said suddenly, making them all pause and turn to him. "I have something to tell you guys," He said, and all three of them paused in their conversation to look over at him. A slightly annoyed look on their face.
"What?" Hermoine asked, narrowing his eyes at him.
"I-I think I'm gay," He mumbled and all three of them burst out laughing.
"No. You're not." Ginny laughed and Harry frowned.
"What do you mean?" The green-eyed boy asked, confused.
"If you're gay, how will we get married?" She asked, shaking her head. "You aren't gay, Harry," She said, rolling her eyes.
"I'm not going to marry you, Ginny." "I don't see you like that," he said, and everyone stared at him as Ginny started to tear up.
"No way, I'm not friends with a faggot," Ron exclaimed, glaring at Harry who was shocked by his statement.
The three of them glared at him as they stood and made their way out of the tower.
Harry sat there for what felt like ages before standing and making his way down the stairs.
He was conflicted about whether or not to make his way to the Gryffindor dorm common room. He decided to wander the halls for a bit.
He walked by a classroom and paused. "I can't believe we have to keep being friends with that faggot," He heard Ron his and frowned deeper.
"You must, my boy," He heard Dumbledore say, "It's part of the plan," The man said.
"How am I going to be Ms. Potter if Harry thinks he's gay?" Ginny's voice rang out.
"Don't worry; everything will proceed as planned," Dumbledore said. Harry knows nothing of the truth yet, so when you see him apologize," the old man said. He heard a collective groan of clear displeasure in the room.
"Why do we have to apologize to that faggot," Hermoine scoffed.
"Because we need to keep him on our side," Dumbledore said, "He needs to be under my control if we will defeat the dark lord," He finished.
Harry was speechless. They didn't even want to be friends with him in the first place. That explains so much of their behavior last year in the Triwizard Tournament. They had so many mood swings toward him that he thought he was going to get dizzy.
Upset, Harry stormed off. He didn't know where he was going, but he walked until he stopped and looked at his surroundings. Seeing that he was outside Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, he sighed before going in.
Walking in, he went to the sink and whispered open in parseltongue. He watched as the sink went up, then entered and went down.
He made it to the room where he had found Ginny in his second year and sighed, wishing now that he had not saved her then. But at the time, he didn't want his best friend's little sister to die. So, he did.
Slithering was heard, and Harry turned around; #Speaker,# Herpo, the basilisk from the second year, hissed.
Harry, at the time, didn't kill it. When the gigantic snake realized that the skinny kid was a speaker, she stood down and allowed him to leave with the girl.
#Hello, Herpo,# Harry said, heading towards the statute of Salazar.
He went towards the back of the statue and pushed a hidden button that caused the side of the statue to open.
Entering Harry made his way down a long passageway before emerging into a living room. He went over to a Slytherin-colored couch and collapsed onto it.
#Speaker is sad,# Herpo said, slithered in, and circled the couch. Her head rested over the arm of the couch.
#I just figured out that my friends aren't my friends,# Harry said, and Herpo hissed in anger.
#Speaker, go to family? Family always helps with betrayal,# Herpo said, and Harry sighed.
#I don't have family# He said and Herpo raised her head to look at Him and tilted her head.
#But I smell them in the castle; they are here,# Herpo said. Harry sat up straight and looked the snake in the eye, seeing as speakers were immune to the look.
#You smell my family in the castle?# He asked, shocked; a family member of his was in the castle.
#Yes, thought you knew.# Herpo said, and the boy shook his head.
#No, I thought all my family was dead, how can I find them?" Harry asked, curiously and anxiously.
#A blood test at Gringotts that will show you, your family,# Herpo said, and Harry nodded.
The thought that he had family in the castle still overwhelmed him. He decided that instead of going to classes tomorrow. He would be going to Gringotts.
