A scream was heard throughout the halls of Malfoy Manor. It was midnight, and the place was silent causing it to echo. The occupants of the house jumped out of bed and ran out of their rooms and raised.
Meeting in the living room on the second floor they paused and looked around. "Who screamed?" Draco asked.
"Where's Alex?" Severus suddenly asked, rushing out of the room; he got to his son's room just as another scream echoed through the house.
Bursting in the door with his wand raised, he paused at the sight before him. Harry was on the bed, thrashing around and sweating heavily, and his breaths came in short.
Rushing over to the bed, Severus clambered onto it and pulled Harry into his lap. "Alex, wake up," he said as Harry continued to trash.
The bed was deep and Harry was pulled out of his arms. Looking over, Severus looked at Lucius, who had taken Harry, who immediately stopped trashing and buried his head in the blonde's neck.
Frowning, Severus slid off the bed and went to the door. Looking back, Severe saw Lucius gently lay Harry under the covers before climbing in with him.
Turning back he saw Tom standing at the door, a small frown on his face. Moving past him Severus went back to his own room. Slipping off his robe, he climbed into his small twin bed.
He didn't like having a big bed, it made him feel even more lonely and a bit more pathetic than he really was.
In the morning, Severus woke up to silence. Sliding out of bed, he went into his bathroom, took a quick shower, got dressed, and headed out.
"Good morning, Severus," Tom said from the kitchen. Severus looked over at him and gave him a small smile.
"Morning, Tom," He said.
The man walked over to him and rested a hand on his shoulder.
"You haven't lost him, you know," he said, and Severus raised a brow. "I saw the look you gave Harry and Lucius last night when Lucius comforted him," he said, and Severus sighed.
"I just felt like I missed my chance," Severus said, and Tom raised a brow, prompting him to continue. "With Alex, my chance at being a parent, connecting with him, doing things together, teaching him potions," he finished.
Tom came over and rested a hand on his shoulder. "You haven't lost the chance to do those things. He's here now. You can still do them, and I'm sure he'll be happy to connect with you, too," he said, and Severus shrugged.
Outside the room, a tall blonde with long hair frowned before turning and heading back up to his mate's bedroom. "Hey," he said, entering the room, and Harry smiled at him.
"Hey, what's wrong?" He asked, seeing the look on Lucius's face.
"I overheard a conversation between Tom and Severus," the blonde said and Harry frowned. "Severus feels like he has lost his chance to be a parent with you. I think because you found me first, he thinks he won't be needed," he told the raven and the younger male frowned.
"What? No, he hasn't," he exclaimed, sitting up. "He's my dad. I'll still need him. I'll always need him," he said, and Lucius smiled.
"Maybe you could show him that," he said, moving closer to Harry. "Just do some small things with him when you can, then maybe once in a while, you can do something big," he suggested, and Harry nodded.
"Yeah, that's a good idea," He agreed.
