Instinctually, my lip turns up as Desmond and Nate continue to plead their case to the Council. All the while Kano and Alpha Rhogon's eyes hadn't left mine, most likely waiting for a rebuttal on my part but I had none.

I did attack Alpha Desmond and Alpha Nate. I did almost kill them and I had no remorse whatsoever about it.

And despite their constant pleas for my rank demotion or possibility for a fair challenge to clear the air, I knew the laws and I wasn't in the wrong.

King Kano, Alpha Rhogon and the rest of the Council knew that too. And my secret smile widens when Kano repeats himself.

"Alpha Desmond, we understand your concerns and your complaint but the Council's hands are tied in this matter."

Desmond growls again, but not towards Kano. He wasn't stupid. "This is bullshit, King! Titus attacked me and Nate. He could have killed us!"

"After you entered his territory unannounced, without permission from him or his Beta, and you provoked him." Alpha Rhogon states truthfully, which only makes Desmond's anger worse.

"Titus knew we were coming!" Nate defends this time.

Kano shrugs. "Ok. That doesn't give you the right to provoke him on his territory and then come crying to the Council when he almost takes out a potential threat to not only him, but his pack."

"Alpha Titus was within his rights." Alpha Rhogon says, leaning back in his chair. "You two left out very important facts that without King Weheil here, we wouldn't have known."

I clear my throat to prevent myself from laughing. That was true too. Desmond and Nate had left out very important things about all of this when they first came in here and stated their case.

Like the fact that they did provoke me by challenging me for my land and my pack without having the Council's permission to do so. The fact that they were on my territory discussing something that King Kano himself had already put an end to. And the fact that they'd disregarding all laws when filing this claim. . . And that's telling the truth.

Without King Kano's mate, Weheil being a Light Elf and being able to pull the truth from Desmond and Nate, they might have gotten away with this.

My ears perk up when I hear Alpha Nate scoff. "So what, any Alpha is allowed to kill without consequences?"

"Yeah I didn't know it worked like that." Alpha Desmond states confidently. A little too confidently.

My brows shoot back when he puffs his chest out and then my eyes immediately find Kano's when I hear him growl.

"First of all, watch yourself, Alpha," Kano warns. "Secondly, an Alpha is entitled to protect his lands and his pack any way he sees fit when a true challenge or threat emerges. Which you two brought to Alpha Titus."

"Stupidly, might I add." Rhogon smirks and when he looks at me, I find myself smiling just a little bit.

"Yeah, stupidly," Kano reiterates. "Now if Alpha Titus had invited you to his lands, you two had discussed an issue that didn't go against my previous ruling and he had attacked you without you posing a genuine threat, then you could have brought this case against him and won,"

Then Kano leans forward and his eyes bleed black, signaling his wolf pressing forward with him. "But you two broke numerous laws and to be quite frank with the both of you Alphas, you should be in the cells for your actions," That brings fear to their eyes and then Kano adds. "However I'm being lenient today and giving you a warning instead."
