He feels like it's his responsibility to protect the younger, to ensure his safety and that he gets home safe and sound each night which is ironic considering despite Wooyoung's behavior and naivety he is actually capable of protecting himself against upcoming dangers.

And he hates it.

It's like an overwhelming urge that overshadows every single other thought. A desire he never knew he could have. It was uncomfortable, it felt unfamiliar and San wanted nothing more than to get rid of it.

The only solution in San's mind was to stop seeing Wooyoung for good, but he can't bring himself to do that, no.

Or can he?

Wooyoung stared at the message on his phone-screen, frozen in place.

He didn't really know how to feel at the moment and everything else seemed to be irrelevant to him. The only thing on his mind being San, or.. what San was going through and what his intention with this message was.

It was clear though, it could only mean one thing and one thing only.

He wanted Wooyoung to leave him alone.

Wooyoung read the messages over and over again, and with each word he read it felt like a knife stabbing him again and again only deeper and deeper with each time.

' I'll work on my sister's case alone, I don't need you anymore. '

Why does he not want to see Wooyoung anymore? What did Wooyoung do wrong?
Did he say or do something to anger San? Wooyoung doubts that a little because he walks on eggshells every time he's around San so he couldn't have said anything wrong really..

Wooyoung didn't even pause to think why him possibly not contacting San ever again would upset him. If anything he should be glad, he should be glad that San doesn't want to have anything to do with him. But the burning, and churning feeling in his stomach when thinking of possibly leaving San in the dark and moving on despite all the things they'd gone through and done together was overwhelming him, and the only thing on his mind was what happened to San for him to send that message?

" Has anyone seen San the past day? " Hongjoong
asked out loud in the lounge room but earning close to no response from the others. San had gone home without a word spoken the other day and now no one knew where he was or what he was doing. The last one to have seen him was Hyunjin but he was fast asleep on the couch.

The silence was broken by a loud thud, the double metal doors opening and a stumbling and what seems to be a bloody Ryujin with Hwasa and Moonbyul supporting her while cursing to themselves.
Screeching sounds emitting from the chairs echoed out into the room as the tension changed from lighthearted and relaxed to tense, cold and dangerous.

Hongjoong quickly rose to his feet and rushed over to Ryujin.
" Ryujin, what the hell happened? didn't I learn you to fucking protect yourself?!! " Hongjoong spoke frustratedly.

It looked like Ryujin had been shot in the stomach as her hands were applying pressure, her skin looked pale and she was sweating. Her eyes glassy as if she had been crying or as if she had been poisoned.
She had been poisoned.
