Then she heard a soft knock on her door. When she opened it, she saw Aunt Anna. "Here's your ramen you wanted," Aunt Anna said.

"Thank you, Aunt Anna!" Rose exclaimed as she reached out for the bowl and took it from her, then closed the door. "It's hot," she noted as she placed the bowl on her table. Walking towards the bookshelf, she grabbed the book she had chosen. As she picked it up, something fell onto her foot. She looked down, her eyes widening.

"This key..."

She leaned down to pick it up.

Suddenly, a scene flashed before her eyes. Blood everywhere, two hands reaching towards her.

"No, please no..." Rose muttered, a tear escaping her eye. She gripped the key tightly, as if fearing it would vanish into thin air, just like five years ago.

Rose stood up and walked towards her cabinet, opening it. Her gaze shifted to the music box. Unlike five years ago, there was no blood on it now. That incident had hardened her, made her fear loss. She touched the music box and inserted the key. As the music box opened, their favorite song began to play—not just hers, but theirs. She still remembered those eyes, her comfort, her strength... She sobbed silently, holding the music box to her chest.

"Ouch!" A five-year-old girl fell down, crying as she saw her injured knee.

"Oh! Are you okay? Let me see," a girl ran towards her. "Don't cry, it will be alright, okay?"

The little kid just nodded, sobbing. The girl led her to the nearest bench and sat her down, cleaning her injuries and applying a bandage.

"There, all done," the girl smiled, patting her head. "Thank you," the little girl said, wiping her tears. "Can you walk now?" the girl asked, to which the little girl nodded. "Good... What's your name, little girl?" "Rose," she replied. "It suits you perfectly, Rose," the girl said. "Thanks," Rose smiled. "And what's your name?" Rose asked. "Fah," she replied. "You're like an angel," Rose grinned. "Really? Then... let's be friends?" Fah asked, and Rose nodded.

Rose continued to sob, holding the music box. The same melody played over and over again. "Why... just why? Why were you the one to leave? You knew, didn't you?" Rose's voice trembled as she spoke. "You promised me you'd always stay by my side, watching over me... so why can't I see you now?!" Rose sobbed, wiping her tears. She tried to stop crying after a while. "Maybe... promises aren't meant for me..."

Her phone started ringing. Seeing it was her brother, she ignored the call and lay down on her bed. But Ray kept calling. Eventually, she gave in and answered. "Troublemaker, why do you keep cutting my calls!?" Ray asked from the other side. "I was sleeping," Rose tried to keep her voice steady. There was silence from Ray's end for a moment. "Hello?" Rose asked, but her voice shook involuntarily. "Did you cry?" Ray asked. "No, I didn't," Rose immediately denied. "Liar, tell me if something happened. Did someone say or do something?" Ray sounded anxious. "It's nothing, everything is fine," Rose insisted. "Rose, please, your voice says otherwise. Something's wrong," Ray said. "Ray, I'm tired. Goodnight," Rose cut the call before he could say more. She turned off her phone, knowing her brother would keep calling.

In Korea, her brother was frantic. What if something had happened to her? What if she tried something like she did five years ago? He couldn't think straight.

"Rose, are you sure you're okay?" Gorya asked, watching her friend eat in front of her. "I am, why do you ask?" Rose replied. "You're not talking much, that's unusual," Gorya observed. "It's nothing," Rose smiled. "Anyway, did you find out anything about that sketch?" Gorya inquired. "What sketch?" Rose asked, puzzled. "Seriously, that half-sketch of you that we found," Gorya reminded her. Rose made an 'oh' face. "I forgot about that," Rose admitted nonchalantly. "Seriously, so typical of you. Now give it to me," Gorya demanded, so Rose handed her the page. "You know, that person is actually a good artist. I can tell from this," Gorya commented. "Hah! You never compliment my artwork, but you're praising some stranger's art that isn't even finished," Rose said, feeling a pang of jealousy. "I mean, look at this—" Gorya began, but Rose cut her off. "No, I'm better off without it. If you like it so much, you keep it," Rose said, turning away. "No, I can't. The person drew you, not me, so technically, it's yours," Gorya insisted. "I don't need it," Rose muttered, but Gorya forcefully handed the paper back to her and left the cafeteria. "Ughhhhh. What am I going to do with this?" Rose sighed in frustration.

"So, who's going to solve this?" the teacher asked, looking at the students. Rose was sweating nervously, wiping her brow with a tissue. 'Please don't pick me, please! I forgot to study last night. Ugh! Please.' "No one?" the teacher asked when everyone remained silent. Suddenly, a student raised their hand. 'Thank you!! You're literally an angel,' Rose thought gratefully. The bell rang, signaling the end of class. "Finally! But I still feel awful from sweating. I'll just go and wash my face," Rose said to herself. She left the classroom and headed for the restroom. Upon opening the door, she saw a girl crying in a corner. Rose walked over and knelt beside her. "Hey there... are you okay?" Rose asked gently, but it didn't stop the girl from crying. Rose noticed cuts and bruises on her hand and immediately understood what had happened. "Who did this to you?" Rose asked, her voice cold. The girl stopped crying and looked at her with tear-filled eyes. Rose hated seeing her like this. "Just tell me who did this to you. I'll take care of them," Rose assured her. "Is it Sarah and her minions?" Rose guessed, and the girl nodded. "I knew it... Don't worry, I'll make sure she feels as miserable as you are now, okay?" Rose weakly smiled and helped her to her feet. "Go to the infirmary and get your injuries checked. And if she tries to mess with you again, don't back down. Stand up for yourself, okay?" Rose patted her head and escorted her to the infirmary. "Also, if anything like this happens again, let me know," Rose said before leaving.

"You have to feel the same thingthe girl felt today" Rose smirked to herself.

A/N: My lovelies, I might write the next chapter next week or later. My school starts tomorrow. Ugh! Here we go again with those damn chores. Anyway, how's the chapter? And can you guess what happened five years ago? 😉
