Rose sprinted towards the gate, her chest heaving as she came to an abrupt stop, bending over to catch her breath. She kept darting glances behind her, nervous that someone might be following. She wasn’t sure when the anger had consumed her so completely, but there was no denying it now. At least she felt a small sense of satisfaction after breaking his nose. Still, the rush of adrenaline was fading, and she had no idea what was coming next. For now, she just needed to get away. The school's gate came into view, and standing beside it, a figure in a helmet caught her attention. Her heart skipped a beat as she immediately recognized him—Ray. He was waiting for her, like always. As soon as he spotted her running towards him, he stood up straight, concern etched on his face.
“Why did you take so—”
“Start the bike,” she interrupted, barely able to catch her breath, her words coming out in gasps. Ray didn’t need any further explanation; he could tell something was seriously wrong. Without wasting time, he climbed onto his bike and handed her a helmet. Rose snatched it, fumbling to put it on.
Ray revved the engine, and Rose wrapped her arms around his waist as he sped off. The wind whipped against her face, but she didn’t care.
Once they were a safe distance away, Ray pulled over on the side of the road and got off the bike, crossing his arms as he looked at her. His brow was furrowed, his frustration obvious.
“What did you get yourself into this time, Rose?” His tone was sharp, his patience clearly wearing thin.
“What are you talking about?” Rose shrugged, trying to act casual, though she knew it was pointless.
“Don’t play dumb with me. I know something happened,” Ray’s voice was firm, leaving no room for her usual deflections.
Rose let out a long sigh. “I threw a ball at someone.”
“You did-- what? Why?”
“They hit me first and didn’t apologize!” she defended herself, crossing her arms.
“That doesn’t mean you can just go around hitting people, Rose,” he said, rubbing his temples.
“They deserved it,” she muttered stubbornly.
“Yeah, well, let’s just go home. I really need a break from you.”

Rose started to walk upstairs to her room, thinking about the incident that occurred there. She let out a sigh and opened her door, closing it behind her. She put her backpack on her desk, her gaze roaming over the picture of Gorya and her that was stuck on the desk. She walked towards the bed and sat down. The mattress dipped under her weight. She took out her phone and messaged Gorya.
Rose:
Did you reach home?Gorya:
I am. Rose can you help me in something?Rose:
For What?Gorya
Tomorrow is the last day of submitting 0ur assignment but I couldn't get it. It's really difficult.Rose:
... ok, I will help u, first I need to get refresh. Then I will call youGorya:
Ok!Rose put down her phone and went inside in washroom. She splash water on her face. After sometime she came out. She already changed into comfortable clothes. Brushing her hair she tie it in a ponytail.
A soft knock on the door broke the quiet of Rose’s room. She opened it to find Ray standing there, grin on his face. With a casual “Hey, little demon,” he breezed past her and plopped down on her bed.
Ray fished a bag from his backpack and, with a flourish, revealed a carefully wrapped chocolate cake. “Do you want some?” he asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Rose raised an eyebrow. “What is it?”
“Your favorite chocolate cake,” he said, presenting the treat and placing it on his lap. Rose moved to sit beside him, her curiosity piqued. “When did you get that?”
“I picked it up before school let out, but I forgot to mention it,” Ray explained. He cut a generous slice of the cake and held it up to her mouth. “Here.”
As Rose took a bite, the rich, sweet flavor melting on her tongue, she asked, “Are you still mad at me?”
Ray shook his head with a wry smile. “No, I should probably be used to it by now; you never listen to me,” he said. Rose took another bite, savoring the moment, while Ray added, “But you should still be careful and let me know if something’s wrong.” He gently patted her head as she nodded, her expression softening.

Rose sat comfortably on her bed, her laptop perched on her knees, chatting with Gorya over a video call.
“Okay, so if you just change that paragraph here,” Rose pointed to the screen, “your conclusion will make more sense.”
Gorya nodded, scribbling notes. “Thanks, Rose. You’re a lifesaver.”
Just as Rose was about to explain another point, the door to her room flew open. Ray burst in with an energy that could only be described as chaotic.
“Hey, Rose! I need to show you something!” Ray announced loudly.
Rose barely looked up from her screen. “Not now, Ray. I’m helping Gorya ”
“It’s important!” he insisted, standing there with his arms crossed impatiently.
Rose sighed, her patience wearing thin. “Fine. What is it?”
Without hesitation, Ray rolled up his sleeves, flexing his arms dramatically. “Look at my muscles!” he said with pride, striking what he must have thought were impressive poses.
Rose’s eyes widened, then she pinched the bridge of her nose, exasperated. "Are you serious right now?" she asked, trying to suppress a laugh but failing.
“Can you stop this?” Rose groaned, half-amused and half-annoyed. “I’m trying to help with an actual assignment.”
Ray gave one more exaggerated flex, then grinned cheekily. “Fine, I’ll leave you to your important work.” He clearly pleased with himself.
He dashed out the door, beaming with excitement. “Hey, Mom! Check out these muscles!”
Rose’s voice trailed after him, frustrated, “Wait! Hey, close the door before leaving!”
Ray, still grinning, ignored her and kept going, leaving the door wide open.
Rose shook her head and looked back at Gorya, still chuckling. “Brothers,” she muttered.
“Hey, at least you have a live comedy show,” Gorya joked, her laughter contagious.
Rose smiled. “Yeah, I guess.”
Rose returned to the screen, exasperated but amused. “So, Where were we?”
