I knocked on the door of team RWBY's dorm. Maybe I should have just texted Yang, it would be way less embarrassing to say all of this to her over text.

The dorm door opened with Weiss standing on the other side, her eyes widened for a moment before her expression returned to being neutral, "Hello, (L/n)." Weiss said, "Can I help you?"

"Y-Yes." I nervously replied, "I-Is Yang here?"

"I'm afraid the rest of my team went to train. You can come in and wait for her if you would like." Weiss offered. The offer didn't feel genuine, more just forced politeness.

I wanted to say no, I don't know why something else came out instead, "Okay." Weiss moved aside and let me in. I walked in and did not expect to see such a chaotic set up. They had stacked their twin beds on top of one another. On one side, a bed chaotically  hung from the ceiling, looking as if it may come crashing down any moment.

Weiss noticed me staring and sighed, "That would be the doing of my.." Weiss paused, clearly struggling to say her next few words, "..team leader."

"You're not the team leader? I'm surprised."

"I was too. It's still an adjustment." Weiss admitted, "I fear I'm simply too used to being in charge."

"I can imagine, Schnees have always been one of the top families of Remnant since as long as I can remember."

Weiss nodded, "I trust that Ruby will be an excellent team leader even when..." Weiss looked towards the bunk beds, "...she makes questionable decisions at times."

I laughed, "I can see that." The room had quickly fallen silent. Neither of us knew what to say or perhaps Weiss had no longer wanted to talk, I couldn't really tell.

The dorm door opened, "Rubes, you need to work on your hand-to-hand combat!" Yang said as she walked in, "(Y/n)!" Yang happily greeted me, bringing me into a hug, "You and the Ice Queen are friends?" Yang asked, looking between the two of us, clearly confused, "I thought people got frozen when they went near her? Just look at the cold looks she's giving me right now!" Yang threw her arms up in pretend defeat, "R-Ruby...Help me...I'm freezing!" Yang joked, causing Weiss to glare at her.

"She was waiting for you, you barbarian."

"Name calling, how rude." Yang held her hand over her heart, gripping her shirt, "I'm so hurt! I would never call you names."

"Quit teasing her, Yang." Blake lightly scolded, causing Yang to pout.

"What did you need me for, (Y/n)?" Yang asked, changing the subject. Did I really even have to ask Yang? I barely knew Weiss, maybe she just doesn't really want to talk to me.

"I can't remember," I lied, "If I do remember, I'll text you." I said, beginning to walk towards the door.

"(Y/n), why don't you come eat with us? We're getting a snack and then going back to training." Ruby happily said.

I stopped and turned, "You guys are training again?"

Blake nodded, "Tournaments start tomorrow, we're trying to train as much as we can before then."

"I totally forgot!" At least Coco's strong...She'll have to make up for my dead weight, "Would it be alright if I trained with you guys?"

"Of course! It would be a huge help since we know how our own teammates fight, but we don't know much about how you fight!" Ruby excitedly said, "And you could tell us all about your weapon!"

"It's really more of a closed practice, Ruby." Weiss said, crossing her arms, "We don't need you learning how we fight and using it against us."

"C'mon, Weiss, be nice!" Yang replied.

"If we lose, then it's on you two."

Training with team RWBY is brutal. They are all so quick and strong. It's hard to believe it's only our first year.

Weiss avoided me for most of the training. I wish she would tell me why. The rest of team RWBY seems to have warmed up to me, even though we've only known each other for a short period of time. Maybe it's simply that Weiss takes a while to warm up to people.
