Chapter 15:

Lauren's POV:

We all got into the car and my Dad started to drive again.

"Dad me and Kacey have to get our stuff from our houses." I told him and he nodded.

"Where am I going?" My Dad asked as he drove down the road.

"Do you remember where my aunt lived?" I asked turning to him. He looked at me and nodded.

"She still lives there." I told him and his eyes widened.

"I have to drive all the way across town?" My Dad asked with a groan.

"What no. She lives like two minutes from here." I told him with raised eyebrows.

"She used to live like all the way on the other side of Cincinnati. Did she move?" He asked me.

"No she said that she has never moved. Oh well." I shrugged. That's weird.

Anyways, after I directed my dad to my house, me and Kacey ran inside. I ran up the stairs and into my closet.

"Hey Kace, can you start packing my stuff while I get dressed?" I asked her and she nodded.

"Of course." I grabbed a pair of sweatpants, a blue v-neck, and my UGG boots. I finished packing all of my stuff before we ran down the steps and back out front.

"Okay. Now go to that yellow house down there for Kacey." I told him putting my bags in the back. He drove us down the street to her house and we ran inside.

"Mom?!?" Kacey yelled. We walked into the living room to see Ms.Lisa and some guy making out. Kacey went over to the kitchen and grabbed something.

She grabbed a blow horn. I shook my head laughing. Kacey went over and blew it in their ears. They quickly pulled back while Kacey walked back over to me.

"Oh Kacey it's you." Her mom said disappointed.

"I thought you had work, so you couldn't come to my game?" Kacey asked with sadness in her voice.

"Oh yeah, that was a lie. Listen Kacey-" Her mom started to say but Kacey interrupted her.

"I don't care. Mom can I go with Lauren and her Dad to his work? He's in the W-" Kacey started to say but was interrupted my her mom this time.

"Yeah, yeah you can go. How long will you be gone? A week? A month? A year?" Ms.Lisa said standing up. Mine and Kacey's mouths dropped open a little.

"I don't know. Probably a few months." Kacey said finally breaking the silence.

"Okay. Bye sweetheart. I love you." Her mom said kissing Kacey before she went back over and started to make out with that guy again.

Kacey rolled her eyes and shook her head before walking up the stairs. I followed her and she started to throw everything in her suitcase.

"I'm sorry." I told Kacey before hugging her.

"Hey, no. I'm good. She won't even recognize that I'm gone cause of all the alcohol she intoxicated with." Kacey shrugged with a chuckle. I nodded knowing that she didn't want to talk about it anymore.

We ran down the stairs and out the door.

"Ready?" My dad asked as we got buckled. We both nodded.

"Ready. I can't wait to see everyone. Especially Aj and Mi-" I started to say but my Dad cut me off.

"Don't even finish that sentence." He said through clenched teeth.
