"Are you sure this is the right place? This is the third stall we've been to! My feet are tired..."
"It has to be, I mean that's what the card said." Yin held up the business card in his hand. "And the reason we're here so late is because you insisted on doing directions" He chided.
His brother huffed at him, poking at his arm.
"It wasn't like you were helping, you forgot we even had that card in the first place! Let's just go in there and get what we need for our scheme, this place is freaking me out." He shuddered, kicking away a small cobweb that was stuck to his foot.
They both walked further into the alleyway, carefully avoiding the small pieces of trash scattered throughout. It had an odd aura of darkness, with barely any sun peeking through its entrance, almost as if something was keeping the light away. They walked past the fallen cans and boxes, and a faint scent of lavender grew stronger, among the smells of other things. But nothing else they could recognize, it was all too foreign.
They reached the stall at the end of it, with a sign that was barely readable. The words had withered away due to time and weather, with the edges of each letter being chipped away. It probably was all covered in graffiti too if the faint spray paint meant anything. A cloaked figure was sitting at the front, polishing a small bottle in her hand. She glanced over at the two demons.
"Hello, sirs. Are you here to browse through my selection?" She asked, putting emphasis on every S she said. turning her head just enough to give them a peak of her slitted eyes. There were a few brown and beige scales on her face, mimicking freckles. She had long silky black hair that moved as though it were a living thing.
"Yeah, we're here to pick up an 'infatuation potion' for somebody who's eh...giving us a little trouble," Jin whispered, using finger quotes.
"You know you can just say a love potion, last time I checked we're the only three people in this alleyway." She sighed and bent down to grab the bottle. "What exactly are you using this for anyway? I mean you don't seem very charismatic, but I've never met somebody this desperate."
"What? No!" Yin both shouted, defensive. "We're just trying to take down the Monkie Kid." She raised an eyebrow at that.
"Yeah, we're going to use this to make him fall in love with a friend of his. He'll be so obsessed with them that he won't be able to focus on stopping us!"
"That isn't how this works, hon." They both paused at that, confused. "A simple love potion can't just create new feelings, you'd need something much more strong than this thing. It can only build upon feelings that are already there. The more they like the person, the more strong and dramatic the effects. Unless your lover boy already likes this person, even just a little bit, this potion isn't going to do anything."
"Of course he does!" Jin grinned, "We've only stalked him a few times but we've noticed how he makes googly eyes at them'."
"Wait, he already likes them?"
"Yeah, at this point it's a miracle he hasn't asked them out yet. If anything we're doing the kid a favor! Now, how much for the potion?"
"It's on the house." That took the two demons off guard. They looked at her, for some sort of affirmation that she wasn't making some joke. But she nodded. "Look, do you want to pay or not?"
She didn't get a response. They quickly grabbed the bottle and sprinted out of the alleyway before she could say no.
"Idiots." She set aside the rest of her bottles. "I'm sure giving those losers a higher dose won't be...too bad."
