You weren't the most athletic when compared to the demons, dragons, and celestial monkeys you surround yourself with. But you felt especially weak having to carry the cuddle monkey attached to your back around. It was embarrassing, dragging around the love-drunk hero that was practically glued to your body. You couldn't shake him off either, every time you did he'd just purr at you. It was like dealing with a large cat.
"Are you sure you don't want me to carry him [Name]?" Sandy asked, "You can barely walk."
"I don't think he's coming off any time soon, Sandy." You groaned, "He has a mystic monkey grip." You weren't entirely sure if being more susceptible to potions was a monkey thing or if MK was some sort of magical lightweight, but that didn't change how humiliating this whole thing was. You prayed for your own sanity that he didn't remember any of this.
"Well, we've checked at least three different potion stands at this point." Pigsy said, "Meaning that this one has to be the one that gave those silver and gold weirdos the potion."
"Let's hope she knows how to fix this," Mei tapped your shoulder, "For the sake of [Name]'s back." She giggled a bit, clearly taking some sort of weird joy in the situation.
"Mei..."
"I'm sorry, it's just too funny!" She poked at MK's cheek, making him mumble some nonsense in response. "He's like a cute puppy." At least she seemed to find the silver lining in all of this, as annoying as this was, he was very cute. Mo didn't seem to think so though, letting out a disgruntled hiss at the mention of a puppy.
"I wouldn't call it cute but this is definitely unusual." Tang joined Mei in her endless poking, enamored by MK's lack of awareness. "It's weird, he was already delirious before but he seems to lose more awareness when he's around [Name]. I wonder how long this is supposed to last."
"I'm pretty sure the label said 24 hours, but I'm not so sure anymore. His state of mind just keeps getting worse. It just got worse when we-" You cut yourself off, the memories of that morning making a blush appear on your face. You didn't know if mind-reading was a power MK had but even in his feverishness he had a shit-eating grin on his face. Did he know how flustered he made you, hell if you knew?
"When you both what?" Tang inquired, making you push him away from you.
"Nothing, I just meant he gets more weird around me." You grumbled as your face grew red. Tang raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. "If we find the person who did this I swear I'm gonna strangle them." You shuddered when you felt sudden movement on your back, it seemed that, for a moment, your makeshift backpack got a small amount of consciousness.
"Mm, hi [Name]..." He looked up at you, making you wonder if he'd even been awake for the past few moments. "What are you doing here..."
"I'm taking you to get cured MK." You said, glaring at the others who were all desperately trying to hold back a laugh.
"But I'm not sick." He pouted, poking at your face. Your personal space was once again being violated.
"You're acting like you're drunk MK, even though I'm sure you've never had a touch of alcohol in your system." You explained, "That and you've been clinging onto me like a koala ever since we left your house."
"But I feel fine." He complained.
"Yeah [Name]," Mei added, "he feels fine~"
"Don't think that just because you're my friend I won't suplex you Mei," You pointed at her, "I'm going through enough suffering today."
"Yeah, suffering you wouldn't be going through if you had listened to me and stayed home with Mo."
"We wouldn't even know who made the potion if it weren't for Mo and I, so I guess this was a," You looked back at MK, "Happy accident?"
