The sewer was dark and gross. I was forgetting where to go and what to do, I needed the plan, really bad. Lily has it; at least that means that she won't get lost. The time I had was spent asking questions to myself. Usually that's what lily does, but she also created them too. For instance I have no idea why she would leave without Kayla and I. She is usually so shy in front of other people. I really hope nothing happens to her.
The only reason that Madam had sent me out anyway was because she was in the middle of a traffic jam. A traffic jam is a phrase that the girls and I use when something goes wrong at the plantation. It usually had something to do with the human trafficking part of the plantation; so messed up paperwork, or escape plots.
The guard stopped waking, "Well I think that we're about done here, time to turn back."
"What, no the trail isn't over yet." My heart was racing, I can't stop looking not yet. "Lily, Lily" I started yelling for her but the guard would t have it.
"Shut up, before I do it for you." The guard said.
"Lily, Lily." The guard grabbed me and started to pull me back. At that point I really didn't think anything through, very unusual for me. I started to thrash around and swinging at everything. My hand made contact with something and I heard a crack.
Next thing I knew my hand had blood on it and the guard was on the ground her nose was pooling with blood.
I looked to the end of the sewer passage, the only thing I could think of was my opportunity to find Lily, and a chance at my own freedom.
