Sathorn clutched the shovel close to him. He was very worried that they would get to him and kill him so he quickly hurried into the house and shut the door behind him. Tears dripped from his face, he wasn't even sure if Griffin would come back as he didn't know where he went. As Griffin walked back he carefully avoided many zombies. As he got closer though he noticed a huge group of them at the house Sathorn was supposed to be burying the bodies. "Shit" he thought to himself. Would his friend forgive him if he ever found out he didn't protect his relative? Well how would he find out, and they might not truly be related? He still did not like how he was feeling about the situation. He picked up the pace and pulled his gun out again. He shot a few of the zombies that were in the hoard. However, His gun soon ran out of bullets and he sighed. He went around the back of the house and inside the building through the back door. Once inside he ran to the front of the house and he saw Sathorn crying, very scared, holding the door closed. Once Sathorn noticed Griffin he looked a bit relieved "ช่วยด้วย! (Help me!)" without really thinking Sathorn ran to him and hugged him tightly. As the zombies broke through the door, now that it was not being held shut, Griffin froze. He hadn't been hugged in six years. It felt so weird to him. Thankfully he quickly snapped out of his zoning and pulled Sathorn up the stairs. The zombies were not very good at climbing stairs so this could buy them some time. He then pulled him into a bedroom as he searched for some type of long ranged weapon or bullets for his gun. He pulled open drawers and cabinets but to no avail. Sathorn, still holding on to his shovel, tapped Griffin and handed it to him. Griffin did not like the idea of trying to kill them with a shovel. Griffin had a pocket knife in his bag but he wanted something long ranged as he was better with those things. However, a thought did hit him. "Stay here." he said while trying to motion for it by putting his hands out in front of him with his palms facing Sathorn. He then left that room and went to a bathroom that was upstairs. He tried to turn on the water from the sink. It worked! The house must have had some sort of well. While water didn't kill them, if they touch it they do start to decay faster, getting rid of them in the long run. Because they are decaying bodies they are decaying constantly but because of the chemicals that caused the outbreak they decay very slowly. Things like water that speed up a decaying process generally speed it up quite a bit. He used the shovel to hold a small amount of water, which was brown from not running for so long, and carefully carried it to the stairs where a few of the zombies had almost made it to the top. He splashed it on them and they made noises of agony as they backed up and tumbled down the stairs. As they fell they knocked others down. He ran back to the bathroom to repeat what he had just done. It had been quite a few years since he had been in a situation where he had to do things like this but it wasn't unfamiliar. After making them back up he used the shovel and water to put water on the stairs, this would ensure them not coming up. After wetting the top two stairs he went back into the room and dropped the shovel. "Lets go elsewhere, this house isn't safe for someone like you." Sathorn didn't move as he wasn't sure if he was telling him if it was safe or not. Griffin grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him towards the window. "เฮ้! เราออกทางหน้าต่างไม่ได้ เราอยู่ชั้นสอง! (Hey! We can't go out the window, we are on the second floor!)" Although Griffin didn't know what he was saying he could tell he was scared still. He went to the closet in that room and took out the clothes. He tied the sleeves and legs of the clothing and threw one end out the window. He tied the other end to the broken bed frame. Sathorn was worried if it would hold but he didn't say anything. "I'll go first. It doesn't completely reach the ground." He grabbed the handmade rope and swung himself over the edge, keeping his feet on the windowsill. He climbed down without too much of a hassle because he had good strength. He dropped a few feet at the bottom but it wasn't very bad. "Alright come down now." Sathorn had watched him go down and nodded quickly. As much as Sathorn seemed like a baby he was actually very into things like extreme sports. However, man-eating creatures chasing him just scared him as it was very new to him. He quickly grabbed onto the handmade rope and did exactly what Griffin did. However near the end where the drop was he was not prepared enough. He fell and even though he landed he twisted his ankle and fell onto Griffin. Griffin caught him and their faces got super close together, their lips almost touching. Sathorn's deep brown eyes stared deep into Griffin's dull eyes. They stood there for a few seconds, and Griffin suddenly started to remember his past again. Those eyes looked very similar to his old friend's. His mind completely went to remembering one of the last times he saw him. "I Like you Griffin." Griffin stood there, his emotionless face staying the same as Thanaphat confessed his feelings for him. The boys stood there for a moment without saying anything and Thanaphat suddenly leaned in to kiss him. As Thanaphat's lips touched his own, Griffin wasn't sure what to do or how to feel. He had never really known what love had felt like but he did feel comfortable with him. However, just as soon as the kiss started, it ended. His mother had apparently seen everything and was now pulling him angrily across the park. Even though his face remained unchanged Griffin was scared for the punishment he awaited. "เฮ้! เฮ้!" Griffin was snapped back into the present by Sathorn yelling and waving his hand in front of his eyes. Griffin pushed him off of him. Sathorn stumbled backwards a little slightly confused on what had happened. "Alright let's go." Griffin said, turned, and started walking. Sathorn quickly followed him and they walked for a little while, just to get some distance from the big zombie hoard, before going into another house. Once inside Griffin took the back off his bag, took out the Thai - English dictionary and handed it to him. Sathorn down at him and shook his head. "ผมเรียนภาษาอังกฤษไม่ได้ ผมเคยพยายามแล้วแต่ต้องโกงถึงจะผ่าน!(I can't learn English. I have tried before but had to cheat to pass!" Griffin just pushed the book towards him until he took it from him. Sathorn sighed and opened the book flipping through it a bit and noticed part of it was missing. He rolled his eyes slightly. "หายไปครึ่งหนึ่ง (Half of it is missing.)" Griffin took his backpack off and set it on the floor, up against the wall. "I'm going to look for food." He went to the kitchen without even trying to motion as to what he was doing. He opened one of the cabinets and there were quite a few cans in it. He wasn't sure what all of them were but he did recognise the word "ถั่ว" which meant beans. Even though he wasn't able to speak it he had learned some basic words just from constantly seeing them and making guesses. He took the can of beans and set it on a counter, along with a jar of canned meat. He wasn't sure if the meat would be good but he would always try to test it because it was harder to find that. He then searched the cupboards for a pan and a plate. He found a pan but he wasn't able to find any clean plates, or even bowls. He was curious if he could actually cook a nice meal from the food in this place. He started to look through all the cupboards for different types of spices and foods to see what he could make. He was actually pretty good at cooking but it had been quite a while since he was able to make a nice meal. He also generally didn't like to waste food but since there were two of them maybe they would finish it all. Griffin had even attempted to look in the fridge but couldn't find anything good in there. He took the things he could find, beans, chicken, spices, and potatoes and set them on the counter. He did his best to cook a nice meal in the pans using his portable stove. Once finished he managed to find forks and grabbed two. He then, keeping the pan on the counter, went to grab Sathorn. However, Sathorn wasn't in the living room anymore. He looked around and found him sleeping on a bed in one of the bedrooms. The room looked almost untouched which was interesting. Griffin went to wake him up but as he got closer he wondered why he had started being nice to him. Why did he make him food? Griffin shook his head, "Its just because he can't cook and he needs to be alive" he thought. He needed to keep him alive just in case he was his old friend Thanaphat's relative. As much as he wished he wasn't, he reminded him of Thanaphat so much look wise how could he not be. Griffin walked over and shook Sathorn a little till he woke up "Hey! Wake up. I've got food for you." Sathorn sleepily opened his eyes and sat up. "ขอโทษ, เมื่อคืนผมนอนไม่ค่อยหลับ (Sorry, I didn't sleep a lot last night.)" Griffin motioned to Sathorn to follow him. Sathorn got up and followed him, once in the kitchen his eyes widened at the food. His mouth watered slightly. "นั่นดูน่าอร่อย! (That looks delicious!)" Griffin handed him a fork and started eating it himself. Sathorn happily accepted the fork and started to dig in. The food was in fact pretty good. However, Sathorn wasn't used to eating old food.
