A whole day had passed with them staying in that house. Griffin was kind of annoyed at the time wasted but he was happy he would have a truck soon. Sathorn had practiced his English all day and half the night. In the morning Griffin woke up and woke Sathorn up quickly. "Is it charged?" he asked as Sathorn sat up very sleepily. Griffin pulled him out of bed and outside to the battery. Sathorn got the battery and solar panel down, despite being very sleepy, and disconnected them. He then brought it over to the front of the truck, opening the hood he popped the battery back into place. He connected all the wires and closed the hood, then got into the front seat and looked around for the key. It was easy to find, just in the small area underneath the radio. He put it into the ignition and turned it. It almost seemed like it wasn't going to work but it finally roared to life. Griffin smiled and was super excited. "ฉันเหนื่อยเกินไป คุณขับเถอะ(I'm too tired, you drive.)" Sathorn got out of the driver's seat and moved to the passenger seat. Griffin, although not understanding what he said, knew why he moved. He stood there for a few moments, he had never driven a car before. Griffin sighed and went back inside, grabbed their backpacks, threw them in the backseat, and got into the front seat. He did know the basics of driving a car because he had driven an ATV before. His family owned one and he was able to drive it. He had just never driven something that big that went that fast. He put his foot on the break and put it in drive. He carefully started letting his foot off the break but immediately put it back on, jerking the car a bit. He looked over at Sathorn but he was fast asleep. He sighed again and tightened his grip on the steering wheel. As he let up his foot off of the break again he carefully turned the car to get onto the road. He was going very slow at first, and the care was making quite a few squeaky noises it probably shouldn't have been making. As he got more comfortable he started adding some speed by pressing on the gas. This was a lot quicker to get around, within ten minutes he was already further than he had been before. He did notice though the gas gauge was gettin pretty low, but he was stopping where they were anyways. He was now to a part he hadn't been to before so he was excited. He didn't bother putting the truck anywhere special, just leaving it in the middle of the road. He put it in park, turned it off, and turned towards Sathorn. "Hey, Wake up." After shaking him a bit Sathorn woke up. He looked over and yawned. He was still tired but not as much now. The two walked around looking in the different houses, they had found some totes as well so they were able to load up anything they wanted or needed. They found some more medication, which were all expired, and bandages, which is an obvious take. They also found some more bullets, another handgun which was different but still good. Sathorn thought back to the words he learned before speaking "Whaats... that... for?" "You" Griffin replied and pointed at him. Sathorn's eyes widened slightly as he hadn't used a gun before, but he didn't say anything. During their search they found a lot more clothes but more than half of them wouldn't fit them. They took clothing that looked like it might fit them and decided to try them on later. They found more food including some canned meat that had a year on it "2024" which was the year in which this all started. So it was only six years old, which was still old but it should be okay for that long. He suspected the canned meat they had before was a lot older because he knew canned meat could also last a while. They packed the food in a separate container than the other things and they loaded the containers onto the truck bed as they got full. They had the guns, ammo, bandages, and medications in their backpacks though just in case. "This is so much easier." Griffin remarked. He did not want to go back to walking everywhere and having to go back and forth so much. This way he was able to carry so much more. After searching all the houses on the block it was now dark out again. Griffin was very happy so he decided to cook a good meal with all the food they found. It wasn't actually a whole lot but it was enough to make a decent meal, better than potatoes. He had beef, potatoes, carrots, and peas to make an almost stir fry. Both of them ate a lot and thankfully Sathorn did not get sick this time. He has questioned in the beginning if he should really eat it but he figured Sathorn could take care of him again if needed. The two changed into some pajama pants they found and they laid down in bed. The particular house they were in only had one bed, it didn't bother either of them and they didn't feel like going to another house even if they weren't far. It was harder to see in the dark and they just wanted to sleep. As they laid down they both just laid there for a few minutes, Griffin was very happy with how today went. It was the first time in a long time he had felt this excited. A small, subtle, smile crept up on his face. Sathorn was staring at him and his face was almost blank but there was an almost amazement look in his eyes. ""ยิ้มแบบนั้นให้ฉันคนเดียวนะ น่ารักดี (Only smile like that for me, its cute.)" Griffin looked over at him, his slight smile dropping. "Hey, how many times do I have to say I don't understand it when you speak in Thai." Sathorn pointed at Griffin "You... smile..." as he said that he smiled. He didn't have the courage to call him cute in a language he would understand so he just said two simple words he had learned that would point out his smile. Griffin was a bit shocked, he smiled? He touched his own face, feeling his mouth "Really?" he asked. Sathorn just smiled and closed his eyes "ฝันดีนะ(Sweet dreams)" Griffin laid there staring at the ceiling for a little while. He was confused, he thought he couldn't smile anymore. That was the first time in around eight years. Griffin fell asleep being confused about it.

The next morning Griffin and Sathorn got up, ate some canned fruits for breakfast, and got back into the truck to move a bit. "Oh yeah we are low on gas." Griffin mentioned as he turned on the truck, which struggled to turn on for a few moments. Sathorn looked at him slightly tilting his head so he pointed to the gas gauge. Sathorn nodded and he looked around for a moment. He pulled out the dictionary from his bag "Fined...gaas...staytion (Find Gas Station)" Griffin nodded and drove around a bit more, Sathorn was a bit concerned with Griffin's driving and that was when he realized he probably was too young to have his license before he was here. He looked over at him scared and concerned but didn't say anything. Griffin pointed to a small gas station in the distance, which made both of them happy. They could keep using the truck and Griffin was happy because there should be a lot of treasures in there. They pulled by a gas pump, almost hitting it which scared Sathorn for a second. They both got out and realized the gas pump wouldn't work. They both sighed and then Griffin pointed to Sathorn, the pump, and the car "You figure this out, I'm going inside" he then pointed to himself and the store. Sathorn got the idea from the rough English he learned and the hand motions. He stood there for a few moments thinking of what to do. Griffin however, practically ran into the store. He awed at all the stuff in there. He grabbed a cart and started filling it with things that might be good, he heard there was a cream filled cake that would last forever, so when he found some he was excited to try it. He opened one and took a bite, however he immediately spit it out and gagged. It was horrible, they did not in fact last forever and if they did they didn't taste like it. Either that or they weren't the ones he heard of, but he was sure they were. He filled the cart with anything canned or may possibly be good still. It was mostly canned stuff but there was a small amount of things he wanted to try to see if they were good. He did not take anything from the cooler section as he figured all of it would be bad. He also went to the counter and found a key for the register which he opened, taking the cash and putting it in his bag. After that he went back outside with his cart but noticed Sathorn on top of the truck and zombies around it. He sighed and left the cart by the door of the store and pulled out his gun.
