Chapter 29: Sky Peak

A week later. As the annual Sky Peak climbing event commenced and rescue teams from Altaria Guild gathered, Alex couldn't shake off his worries about what he had witnessed involving Darkrai. He approached Elton once again, his concern evident on his face.

"Elton, we have to do something about Darkrai. We can't just ignore it," Alex insisted, his voice tinged with urgency.

Elton, who was starting to get slightly annoyed at Alex's persistent concern, took a deep breath before responding. "Alex, nightmares are just like dreams. They're not real; they're creations of the mind. Look around us," Elton gestured towards the bustling activity of the rescue teams and the cheerful Shaymins in Shaymin Town. "Everything seems fine here. There's no sign of trouble, and the Cult of Darkness has been dealt with swiftly. There haven't been any more incidents."

Alex hesitated, still troubled by what he had seen. However, Elton's logical reasoning and the peaceful atmosphere of Shaymin Town did provide some comfort. "You're right, Elton," Alex conceded, albeit reluctantly. "Maybe I'm just letting my imagination get the best of me."

Elton nodded, offering a reassuring smile. "Let's enjoy the event and focus on the positive. We're here to climb Sky Peak and have a great time with everyone."

With that, Alex tried to push aside his worries and immerse himself in the excitement of the annual event, joining the other rescue teams in their adventurous journey up Sky Peak.

Just then, a Shaymin approached them with a curious demeanor; it introduced itself in a cheerful manner. Alex and Elton couldn't help but be drawn to its friendly energy.

The Shaymin chirped happily, asking if they were enjoying the Sky Peak climbing event and expressing excitement at meeting new friends.

Elton, with a smile, replied that they were indeed having a great time and introduced themselves as members of Team Awesome from Altaria Guild. He then asked the Shaymin about life in Shaymin Town and how things have been going lately.

The Shaymin's eyes sparkled as it began to share stories about the town, its inhabitants, and the beautiful nature surrounding it. It mentioned the annual Flower Festival that was coming up and how everyone in town was looking forward to it.

Alex, feeling a bit more at ease in the presence of the cheerful Shaymin, joined in the conversation, asking about any interesting events or legends related to the town.

As the conversation continued, Alex's worries about Darkrai's intentions started to fade temporarily, replaced by the joy of discovering new places and meeting friendly Pokémon like Shaymin.

Guildmaster Altaria, along with Farfetch'd, announced the commencement of the annual Sky Peak climb, emphasizing the importance of caution due to the mountain's obstacles and unpredictable challenges. Altaria assured everyone that he would be accompanying Farfetch'd and would meet them at the peak.

The teams erupted in excitement, their cheers echoing through the starting point. Team Light, acknowledging the significance of the climb, wished good luck to Team Awesome before setting off on their own journey.

As the majority of the teams began their ascent, a curious Shaymin approached Team Awesome, expressing its desire to join them. Elton's face lit up with joy as he warmly welcomed the Shaymin to their group.

Just then, Team Fuse, consisting of Spinda, Dunsparce, and Chimecho, approached with a rather lackluster mood. Spinda grumbled about their dislike for the annual event, citing exhaustion and their previous failed attempts to pass the fourth pass.

Elton, intrigued, asked them to elaborate on their experience. Spinda sighed dramatically, "It's just too much, mate. We always hit a wall, quite literally, at that blasted fourth pass. It's like the mountain's playing tricks on us."
