---The atmosphere in the library was a soothing cocoon of silence, allowing Y/N to immerse herself fully in the world of her novel. With each turn of the page, she slipped further away from the realities of Hogwarts, her imagination painting vibrant landscapes and exhilarating adventures that felt almost tangible.
Suddenly, a paper bird swooped through the stillness, landing softly on her book. Y/N’s heart fluttered at the unexpected interruption, a small smile gracing her lips, though it didn’t ignite the usual warmth within her.
Curious, she unfolded the note, revealing a message from Ollivander. He wanted to meet in the Room of Requirement before dinner. With a casual shrug, she tucked the parchment into the pocket of her robe and retrieved her wand. “Tempus,” she murmured, and the spell revealed it was 11:45.
Her stomach growled, a reminder that she had skipped breakfast in her quest for solitude. Shoving her novel into her bag, Y/N set off toward the Great Hall, the promise of food propelling her forward.
The corridors buzzed with students, laughter and chatter echoing off the stone walls as she navigated through the throng. Upon reaching the Great Hall, the familiar scent of food enveloped her, but the atmosphere felt subdued—less lively than usual. Students filled the long tables, forks scraping against plates, but a palpable emptiness hung in the air, leaving Y/N with a sense of disquiet.
Taking a deep breath, she headed to the far corner table, where Hermione and Ginny animatedly discussed something with Ron and Neville. Yet, her heart sank when she noticed Harry was nowhere in sight.
“No,” she told herself firmly, her resolve hardening. She couldn’t face him—not now. Instead, she chose the solitude of the very end of the table, pulling her hood up to shield her face from prying eyes. As she nibbled on slices of apple and kiwi, the warmth of camaraderie felt like a distant memory, one she didn’t have the strength to reach for.
After what felt like an eternity of classes filled with half-hearted participation, Y/N made her way to the Room of Requirement. She pushed the door open to find Ollivander seated on the couch, his demeanor stiff and unyielding, as though carved from stone.
“Hello, Ollivander,” Y/N greeted, forcing herself to approach him.
“I need to talk to you,” he said abruptly, rising as if her presence alone demanded his attention.
Her heart raced, a mix of anxiety and anticipation coursing through her veins. Before she could gather her thoughts, he continued, “I want to break up with you.”
The weight of his words hung in the air, suffocating her. “W-what?” Y/N stammered, disbelief washing over her. The sting of betrayal tugged at her heart, yet she masked her emotions with a veneer of composure.
“I don’t love you anymore,” he stated, his tone devoid of any hint of regret.
Y/N’s chest tightened. “Is that it? After everything I’ve done for you? This is how you repay me?” Her voice rose, trembling with a mix of anger and hurt as tears cascaded down her cheeks.
“I can’t keep pretending, Y/N. I love someone else, and I’m happy with her,” Ollivander said, his matter-of-factness slicing through her like a blade.
“WHAT?! Then why did you act like you cared before? Why? I thought you loved me! How could I be so foolish?” Her words erupted, laced with indignation as she wiped her tears furiously.
“Y/N, I—”
“THAT IS IT? AFTER I LOVED YOU AND SACRIFICED EVERYTHING? THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT ME?” The volume of her voice echoed off the walls, reverberating in the heavy silence between them.
For a moment, Ollivander stood there, his expression caught between surprise and discomfort, but the flicker of guilt never crossed his face.
“Do you even understand what you’re throwing away? I gave you everything!” Y/N's voice cracked, the hurt clawing at her insides. “You only wanted me for my connections and resources, didn’t you? You never loved me at all.”
Stepping closer, he reached out as if to comfort her, but she recoiled, slapping his hand away. “Don’t you dare touch me!” she warned, her finger jabbing fiercely in his direction. “Or I swear I’ll make you regret it.”
The audacity of his response stunned her. “Come on, sweetheart, don’t be like this.”
With a sudden surge of fury, Y/N kicked him sharply in the shin. As he stumbled back, she stood over him, her voice low and fierce. “Don’t ever come near me again, or else…”
Straightening her posture, she stormed out of the Room of Requirement, the chill of the space lingering behind her like a ghost. She felt the cold seep into her heart, solidifying the pain.
With a heavy sigh, Y/N realized she no longer had an appetite. Instead, she sought solace by the Black Lake, hoping to gather her scattered thoughts.
As she crested the ridge, the lake unfolded before her, shimmering like a sheet of polished silver under the dim light. The serene silence enveloped her, the only sound of the gentle rustling of pine trees and the faint whisper of the wind. The air was cool, fragrant with the scent of mint and earth, offering a sense of peace she desperately craved.
Settling against a sturdy pine tree, Y/N took a moment to breathe. She glanced up at the vast night sky, where stars twinkled like scattered jewels against the dark canvas, and the moon cast a soft, silvery glow, illuminating the tranquil scene around her.
Inhaling deeply, she forced a smile, finding solace in the beauty surrounding her.
Drawing her knees to her chest, Y/N wrapped her arms tightly around her legs, seeking comfort in the familiar pose. Her chin rested gently on her knees as she gazed off into the distance, lost in a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. Time slipped away as her eyelids grew heavy, and before she knew it, she drifted off, surrendering to the stillness of the night, her heart heavy but her spirit yearning for renewal.
