She breaks me down and I wither
She pulls me underground
I can almost reach the river
But the flames are all around
The flames are now extinguished
By my ever flowing tears
Yet another fire burns
As she’s igniting all my fears
I peer over the river’s side
No reflection I can see
I’m swallowed as it opens wide
I’m lost and I can’t breathe
The water’s brown and murky
No longer clear and blue
It’s dirty and polluted
And I haven’t got a clue
I gasp as I come up for air
For standing overhead
Is the one who pulled me under here
She glares and I see red
There’s no escape, I scream, I cry
I’m pleading for my life
And when I look up at her face
No mercy in her eyes
She pulls me up
A little higher
Claims it’s out of love
Then throws me in the fire

PoetryThis is a book of some poems I've written recently. Some are about me, some are about books, and some are about something else entirely. Either way, I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
