It was the day of Cici's weekly checkup.

The raven haired girl sat in the waiting room with her parents by her side. Her palms were sweaty as she dug her nails in them. She was waiting for her reports, silently begging to all the Gods for the report to be positive.

"Next! Cyra Moon?" The familiar voice of Mrs. Noir sounded from behind the desk.

She smiled softly at them, before motioning them to follow her. They followed her into a room, where her doctor was sat.

"Good morning, Cyra." Amber, her doctor, greeted with a smile. The lines on her face symbolized her experience and expertise in her field, yet she had that comforting aura every patient wanted. Mrs. Noir left the room as Cici and her family took a seat.

"Cyra, your reports are...okay. Your condition is still not improving. If this continues, there is a risk of it worsening." Amber crossed her hands on the table as she spoke.

Cici sighed, leaning back on her chair.

"Are there some other medications that can be prescribed?" Her father asked from beside her.

"I'll prescribe you a new medicine, make sure to take it after dinner and before lunch." She said, writing something on a page before handing it to her parents. They thanked her, before getting up to leave.

"Uh- Cyra, Can I talk to you for a second?" Amber suddenly asked.

"Sure," Cici said after getting an approval look from her parents. They left the room soon after and she took her seat again.

"Look, I'm not going to sugarcoat it for you, but there's an eighty percent chance that your condition could get worse. Don't panic, just don't skip these visits or any of your medications, okay? And please, don't look it up on Google, it's only going to make you anxious for nothing."

Cici only listened, having no idea what to say. She had not expected that. All her praying, all in vain. Her leg started bouncing rapidly due to her anxiety kicking in.
