Cyra wanted nothing more but to be normal.

The universe loathed her, the world deemed her pitiable. If only had she died the same day her life got turned upside down, she wouldn't have to hear the incoherent whispers of fake hope and wisdom.

Every now and then, Cyra felt blood drip down her skin. But she was used to looking and finding nothing. Maybe it was just her mind playing tricks on her, or maybe it was all real and she just wanted to escape it all by pretending it wasn't.

The world would not stop for her, even if she was dead. They would learn to move on.

Cyra relaxed against the headboard. She tapped her fingers on her knee rhythmically, her dark brown eyes gazing off into distance. Her ears were ringing, amplifying by the passing seconds.

The door swung open, her uninvited friends waltzed in. The ringing stopped. The feeling of crimson on her skin stopped. The incoherent whispers stopped. Everything was back to normal, in a snap.

"Cici! You won't believe what happened!" Giselle said as she plopped down next to her on her bed. Mason and Walker sat from across them on the bed.

Cyra smiled as she asked, "What?"

"So, we were on our way to your house and Walker-" Giselle cut herself off with a wheeze, followed by a loud laugh from Mason and a distressed one from Walker.

"What? Tell me!" Cyra laughed.

"Okay, okay. So Walker had this amazing idea to jump across your neighbors fence, and our idiotic Mase loved the idea. So they went ahead with it and landed straight on his daughters cute little house." Giselle managed to finish before completely losing it.

Cyra laughed in shock, placing her hand on her mouth.

"What is actually wrong with you two?"

"If he asks about the broken wooden house in his backyard- tell him you saw his dog do it." Mason suggested.
