ALHAITHAM POV :

"Alhaitham, someone dropped off a letter for you."Cyno spoke as he gave me a letter.

It was an envelope, the bottom right had the words 'URGENT' in red flashing letters. It also had 'From: Kaveh' on the front of the envelope.

It must be his response. I didn't expect that he would actually listen to my expected deadline, but he sure did.

I opened up the letter :

' Dear Alhaitham,

I couldn't sleep last night because I was still so shocked about the fact that we have to leave Sumeru. Of course, I don't expect you validating my feelings but I really did find it hard to make a decision. I know it might seem dramatic but this is where I was born, this is where I grew up, and its hard to leave it so suddenly, without a heads up just because of academic purposes. But, I decided to set my feelings aside for now since I know you wouldn't even consider even once. I have decided that we should take our leave tomorrow night. Let us take the last carriage that departs at 7 PM and arrives at Fontaine by 7 AM the next day. Book it the carriage by tonight. That is my final decision and I hope that you'll agree to it.

                                        From, Kaveh'

It was good to know that he had made up his mind, but it seems to bother me that he poves Sumeru that much. Don't get me wrong, I also grew up and live here but I could never value it as much as he does.

I pinned the letter on my bulletin board and continued to read.

---------

ALHAITHAM POV :

It was early in the morning, but I was laready up since I have a lot of things to do today before leaving for Fontaine.

I was reading when I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in."I said bluntly.

"Me and my partner will leave for Mondstadt now, Haitham. Please lock the door and the windows before you leave later. I wish that the Archons bless you with luck."Tighnari spoke.

I just looked at him and nodded. Looks like they we're stationed to Mondstadt, what a far nation.

After an hour of reading, I went with my day, rearranging my books, packing my suitcase, revising my schoolwork.

After all of that, I checkrd the time 4 PM.

I figured it was best to get something to eat before and while on the road. So, I went and got ready to go to the market, it felt weird that i was going alone, maybe I just got used to Cyno and Tighnari being with me all the time.

I was at the market, choosing what food to buy when I stumbled upon that blue haired guy who opened the door for me when I came for Kaveh, he must be his roomate.

"Hello!"He greeted.

I just nod, acknowledging his prescence. I assumed that his personality was like Kaveh's but if he wasn't such a smart-ass and annoyed all the time.

"You and Kaveh will be leaving today right?"He asked.

I nodded.

"I know this sounds corny and weird but please do your best to look after him and take care of him. Kaveh is the type of person to be very selfless, not to mention he starves himself until he achieves something......I can't forget that one time he didn't eat for days until he got an exam perfect. So please, look after him while you can."he begged, in a calm and nice manner.

I didn't know that behind that defensive, annoyed, and confident Kaveh, was someone who craved for validation, even if he sacrificied himself.

"I will take note of that."I said bluntly.

"Thank you."he said, smiling.

"If you don't mind, may I ask what your name is?"I added.

"Call me, Venti."He said.

I nod.

Venti eventually paid for his goods and walked off.

-----

It was now 7 PM.

I was waiting outside Kaveh's dorm.

After a few minutes, I heard a loud thud and the door opened. It was Kaveh, dragging his huge suitcase with him.

"Are you serious?"I asked, sighing in the process.

"Yes, now I'd appreciate it if you would help me."He said, annoyed.

I ended up helping him out.

"Thank you."He said as he finally got to sit down.

After a few minutes, the awkwardness in the air was blooming, only the sound of the horses carrying the carriage can be heard.

"Hey, no need to be so dense. We should atleast be fond of eachother if we're going to be together for weeks."he spoke, in that casual and annoyed tone of his.

"Is that all you have to say? State your name and something about you, thats the least you can do to make a friend."I spoke.

"Who do you have to be so arrogant?"He said in a firm tone, almost yelling.

"But fine, my name is Kaveh, and....Im an aspiring architect. I love dishes with soup and my favorite place is the House of Daena."he stated.

"Soup dishes?"I sighed, disappointed.

"Personally Kaveh, I absolutely despise anything that have soup in them. They are quite....hard to eat while im busy reading."I replied.

"What are you even reading about anyway?"he asked.

"All sorts of things, I believe that everything is connected...I just ahve to find the closest link."I stated.

"But, why do you always have to be like that? Based on our previous interactions, can't you just think practically for once? You always reply and talk like everythings based on knowledge and books!"he said, in a rather annoyed, loud tone.

"Why are you so insensitive about anyway? This is my life, not yours. you know I could easily leave you here to do he quest on your own."I said, threatening him.

He kept complaining about everything.
