"Sister!"  a voice echoed through the walls of my hospital room, revealing a stunning woman with blonde hair and blue eyes, and better yet, holding a box of donuts.

My sister, the girl I loved ever since she came into this world. "Ophelia... What are you doing here?" I lifted my very own azure-colored orbs from the journal I was scribbling upon.

"To check up on my favorite sister, why? Is it bad?" She sarcastically mocked me and let out a hearty chuckle. I never realized how I dearly missed that sweet laugh.

"That's because I'm your only sister, Lia" I argued and rolled my eyes. She ignored my joke and peeked at my journal.

"You're still finishing that?" She said, picked up a donut, and handed it to me. The blonde sat on a chair and gestured to the object I was holding

"I don't have anything better to do, being stuck here... Is so boring..." I sighed and genuinely meant every single word.

"And yes, I am finishing this novel of mine."

That novel was the lifeline that kept me going amidst the relentless onslaught of Adenocarcinoma. Every page read was like a portal to a temporary escape from the harsh reality of life.

"Well... If it makes you happy, " Ophelia took a bite from her donut and continued to entertain me with the endless stories of her journey throughout the day.

"And she was like the villainess in that novel of yours! A bitch for a co-worker! Rina makes me so angry to the point I want to bash her head to a wall and throw her into a river!" She complained.

I giggled at her bashfulness, until now she was such a child. "Well maybe we can, in the novel, I based on that co-worker of yours as my villainess" I smirked.

"Will you?? Please! Make sure her head is chopped off!" She squealed like a child.

"Of course anything for you," I patted her head and rubbed my thumb on her cheeks until my eyes landed on the clock. "Oh my! It's already 10 PM! You should get going, getting a taxi at this hour will be hard, Lia"

This girl also took notice of the clock, ran to her bag, kissed her older sister's cheek, and waved goodbye "I'll make sure to visit you during my time off, okay? Make sure not to die" She chuckled and closed the door.

"I'll tr-" I immediately stopped when I felt my airway clogging up, my breathing was so unstable and I kept gasping nonstop. Fuck, was I going to die?!

I pressed the emergency button on the bedside table while clutching at my lungs, no no no please no!

As I struggled to hold on to my consciousness, the excruciating pain in my chest felt like it was tearing me apart from the inside. The urge to inhale was becoming unbearable, yet I fought with all my might to keep my mouth shut. It felt like an eternity, but in reality, only seconds had passed.

The nurses and the doctor arrived and I felt a glimmer of hope not until...

My body succumbed to the darkness.
