The carriage ride home was a little bumpy and rain started pouring in.

As I sat there, I realized that if I wanted to survive the whole mess, I needed to start undoing all the misdeeds Safforina did.

Thankfully, I remembered all of the events up until her arrest. It's hard to believe that Safforina was based on my sister's coworker, as she was probably worse than a witch - scheming, cunning, and power-hungry.

Speaking of which, I do miss my sister, I hope she continues to be happy...

A week later...

My father had called me into his office, wanting to discuss some matters.

So here I am, sitting on the leather couch. Sipping tea for the 100th time since I got here.

Nobles like tea, don't they? It's probably their favorite letter.

I laughed at my joke. Which earned a glare from my father.

"Is this some laughing matter, Safforina? Your sister is the prophecied saintess, and rumors are spreading that his highness has taken an interest in her!"

"Well, what am I supposed to do? Lock up his Highness?" I grumbled the last part so he couldn't hear me.

"I want you to go to your sister and give her this," he passed me a scroll.

Fuck. I completely forgot about the scroll.

"Can't Saviro do it?" I reluctantly took the paper.

"He's away on a business far from Illion, attending to another country's needs."

Right! Why did I have to send him away?! Now I have to go to the temple!

"Why does it have to be me, father? You have countless messenger boys," I sighed.

"Take a look at it, the scroll is written in ancient language! I found it lying on my desk earlier today... I want to know  the contents but I do not trust my scholars enough to decipher it, so I need your sister's gift to decrypt the scroll."

I gulped. Will my doom be faster than I thought? And... Who the fuck gave this?!

I went back to my chambers and plopped down my bed.

"I need to deliver the scroll tomorrow... Why did I forget about that damn paper?! It's the sole reason why Safforina was arrested!"

The scroll told a prophecy foretelling the rise of a dark figure who would bring chaos to the once-peaceful empire. However, it also spoke of the child of the Goddess, destined to confront and reveal the darkness that threatened their world.

My father, who didn't know what it contained, asked a hand from my sister to decipher the text.

She--who deciphered it--knew immediately who was the supposed "dark figure" and "child of the Goddess" So, she told the emperor and planned a battle against Safforina.

However, due to the saintess saving grace, she pleads to not fight her sister but arrest her instead. Which, also came to her execution. What was the point anyway? She was going to die.

BUT, this wasn't supposed to happen! Not right now! This was at the end of the book! Not at the complete start! And what does he mean by lying on his desk? The scroll was supposed to be given by Eric!

What the fuck is happening right now?!
