With a loud bang, the door flew open, sending shivers down my spine.

Walked a man with a cape that bore the emblem of the imperial family. Behind him, a brigade of knights followed, their armor clanking with every step.

As I sat there in the dining room, my heart racing, I couldn't decide if I was more amazed or terrified by the surreal scene unfolding before me.

'To think, this is happening.' I thought and stood up, trying to escape the screams that were enveloping the room.

"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS, YOUR HIGHNESS?!" The duke screamed.

"I'm here to take the saintess, your grace. No need to fret." The man's eyes glinted with a mischievous gaze.

"Saintess?! Alex, have you officially lost your mind?!" My brother screamed, which was pretty shocking considering his status was lower than the crown prince.

Just then the honey-haired woman locked gazes with the red-haired one. It was like a fairytale. Anyone could tell it was love at first sight.

'Ahh the beginning of the book.'

As the servants recognized the crown prince, all of them bowed immediately. Even me, who was now bowing to the man that would kill me in the future.

Alexander Von Illion was the soon-to-be emperor of the Illion empire. He, who got the order to seize the Crotious duchy and take the saintess was going to be my killer.

The man who locked gazes with the terrified saintness, immediately fell in love, and was not afraid to hide it.

He was so in love, to the point that it was unhealthy.

He hated any man who would get close to her, hiding his obsession in disguise to uphold her "purity" Furthermore, he bore absolute hatred for the woman who tormented his beloved.

Which was me, the former.
