"What are you doing?" I said looking at Madison. She didn't over a me, but I knew she's led at me. Maddy likes to disobey orders that's how she was. "Oh, nothing..." Madison sang as she crawled through the dark sewer tunnel.
Shit.
"You're doing something! I can see you!" I shouted at her down the tunnel she let out a faint laugh and smiled to herself. "Why are you so worried? we've been down here so many times." Madison says, she knew I couldn't hear her since she was so far down the tunnel.
Fuck, Fuck, fuck. think of something stupid
"Madison," I broke down her name, I saw she stopped moving and paused. "We need to go." I said with a slight nervous tone in my voice. Madison looked over her shoulder glance at me then back at the end of the tunnel. she sighed turned around heading back towards me.
Thank fucking god.
"we have school don't we?" she asked. " yes we do." I replied. "I thought it was Saturday." Madison answered back. my heart quickened when Maddie mentioned Saturday. " Nope it's started new week." I quickly replied feeling a sweat come on.
Maddie get out of this freaking tunnel you do this every month you haven't caught on.
Madison brush off the dirt off her skirt as soon as she get got out of the tunnel. " it's boring and people are assholes at school." Madison wines as we walked away from the sewer tunnel.
yeah yeah you say that every time.
I rolled my eyes now and she couldn't see me do it. " you want me to go to school without my best friend?" I said dramatically so she would believe it and could move past this and everything would be go back to normalish.
take the bait please.
" well of course not!" she cried at me, giving her cute puppy dog eyes.
Good she took the bait like always but you never know.
I let out a breath of relief don't know I was holding. " come on let's go to school." I said with a smile smile and Madison grabbed my hand, she smiled back at me.
Magic is tricky and it always comes with a price. It's like a double edged sword, entirely and dangerous at the same time, the price of magic is never clear until it's too late. I've seen it take everything from people- their health, their sanity, their love ones. And yet, here I am using it for my own gain. But what choice did I have? It wasn't always like this. I mean I don't know what I did. I was scared and under pressure. I didn't mean to hurt maddy; she came out of nightmare.
I was a young boy who had always been fascinated by magic. Ever since I was a child, I would spend hours reading books about spells and incantations, practicing my wand movements, and dreaming of the day when I could cast my own spells.
As I grew older, my passion for magic only grew stronger. I began to experiment with more powerful spells, pushing the boundaries of what I thought was possible. But one day, something terrible happened.
I was practicing a particularly difficult spell in a secluded area of the woods when Madison suddenly appeared out of nowhere. She Startled me, and I accidentally cast the spell in her direction, not realizing that it was too powerful for her to withstand.
The spell hit Madison with such force that she was instantly killed. I was devastated by what had happened. I had never intended to harm my best friend, and the guilt of what I had done.
In the aftermath of the accident, I found a spell to preserve Madison body to keep it fresh and save, until I can find a spell to bring her back because if anyone found out she died from magic then hunters would come and hunt me down like my real family.
One faithful day, after years of practicing and studying, I stumbled upon the perfect spell to bring Madison back to life. It was a risky spell, one that I knew could have dangerous consequences, but I was willing to do anything to make things right.
With a heavy heart and trembling hands, I cast the spell. To his amazement, it worked. Madison came back to life, almost entirely. But as I had feared, the spell had taken a part of me.
From that day on, I felt a strange connection to Madison, as if a piece of my soul was now entwined with hers. I couldn't explain it, but I knew that I would never be the same.
To make matters worse, the spell had also erased Madison's memory of the accident. She had no idea that she had died, or that I had been the one to bring her back to life and accidentally killed her.
I knew that I had to keep the truth from Madison, no matter how much it pained me. I couldn't bear the thought of her knowing what I had done, and the guilt that would come with it.
And so, I kept my secret, silently carrying the weight of my actions. But despite the heavy burden I bore, I found solace in the fact that I had been able to bring my friend back to life, even if it meant sacrificing a part of myself in the process.
As for Madison, I know she's grateful to be alive even if she doesn't know that she died, but I know she couldn't shake the feeling that something was different. The she felt a strange connection to me , a bond that she couldn't quite explain by the times I've caught her looking at me and spacing out, but she pushed the feeling aside. I know part of Madison will be dirty little secret and hopefully she never finds out that I accidentally killed her.
