MARCH

Joey wasn't completely sure if she would make it to the party, so she told Noa she couldn't go with her. But she still tried her hardest to get there even if all odds told her it was nearly impossible.

She sped up a bit on the road and left to make the delivery a little sooner so she had enough time to come back home and get dressed for the party. She didn't want to tell Noa and get her hopes up in case something else came up along the way and she actually wouldn't be able to attend.

"Where are you going?" Carter asked, noticing the way she was dressed.

She had some light blue jeans that were cuffed at the bottom, paired with a denim jacket that covered her GUNS N ROSES black tank top which displayed her abs. She was planning on wearing a beanie too, but decided to let her curls wander free instead. She threw on a few rings and her signature perfume and was heading for the door when her brother called her back.

"Karen's throwing a party." Joey answered, proceeding to grab the keys to the car. "I'm meeting up with Noa over there and then I'm probably gonna stay at her place tonight. But don't worry, I already got the delivery done and I left the money on the counter for you. Is there anything else you need me to do?"

He seemed almost... impressed with the dedication, rubbing his growing beard as he shook his head. "No, you're good. But, I don't know if you should stay over at her place tonight. Kiara might need you here to take care of her—"

"Kiara's sleeping over at her friend's house tonight, Carter." Joey pressed her lips together in annoyance. "I told you this literally a few hours ago."

He rolled his eyes. "It must have slipped my mind. Geez, I'm sorry! Quit being such a hard ass, would you? I have other important things to remember, Joey. A sleepover is definitely not one of them." He scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest. "Now get going before I change my mind and have you do some other shit."

He wasn't bluffing, so she opened the door and headed over to the party with a smile on her face at the thought of being able to see Noa. She was so beautiful. God, she could drown in her beauty endlessly. Joey pictured it right now, the large grin on Noa's face when she realized Joey was at the party.

She had a blue dahlia laid on the passenger seat for Noa, her favorite flower. She loved surprising her with flowers, even if it weren't a surprise anymore since she did it quite often. If it made Noa smile, Joey would gladly do that and more.

She exited the car, maneuvering past a few people standing on the lawn and heading straight inside. She was greeted by a drunk Imogen who smiled brightly at her sudden appearance. "Jo, you made it! I knew you would!"

"Hey, Im!" Joey accepted the hug Imogen was leaning forward to greet her with. But then she noticed the heavy state her friend was in. "How much have you had to drink?"

"Just a few drinks, I promise!" Imogen waved her off, taking another sip of her cup that was most definitely filled with some type of alcohol. "But we ran out of beer, so now I'm looking for Greg so I could tell him to grab some more."

"Listen, do you have a ride home?" Joey asked, not wanting the girl to stray too far in her current state. "I can give you one when you're ready to go if you'd like. I don't mind it."

"No, that's okay! Thank you, though! I'm probably gonna stay here with Karen after the party's finished." Imogen told her.

"Okay, um, well, have you seen Noa around? I'm not sure if you remember how she looks like—"

"Of course I do!"  Imogen exclaimed, cutting her off. "She was sitting down in the living room the last time I saw her. I think she was with a hot dude, though."
