Laurel spoke up, "Derick, you have to promise this secret stays between you and us." she said in a serious tone, Maxwell nodded and waited for Derick's response. Derick sighed, if he denies then he would not know and it is clearly important. But if he does agree, then the rest wouldn't know and that would be a secret. And he wasn't a person to keep things from his friends but, this is important this is a key. "I promise." He said a with a bit of hesitation, Laurel sighed and nodded to Maxwell signalling he should tell Derick not her.
"Derick, this might sound strange but," Maxwell paused, "This murder isn't a work of a human, and definitely not a wild animal." He said in a sharp and on edge tone, Derick was shocked. The first question that came to Derick's mind is 'What is it then?' but instead he asked, "How do you know for sure?" Maxwell looked at Laurel and said, "Show 'im." Laurel walked up stairs and brought down a picture that isn't the best quality but it has a figure of something that is clearly not a human nor an animal. She spoke, "This is the best picture of what I saw running away from your home at 6:49 p.m." Maxwell crossed his arms and butted in the conversation, "We were going to visit you since we wanted to talk about the summer vacation plans. But we found this running in the opposite direction pretty far from us." Laurel spoke again, "And I manage to snap a picture of it, though this isn't enough proof for the police. Trust me, we've tried." Derick was dumbfounded, mouth open and all.
He caught himself and spoke in somewhat worried tone, "Why can't we show the gang?" He asked as he is literary panicking in his head, 'My plan could backfire-' He thought, before Maxwell spoke up again. "Do you have any idea how freaked out they will be?!" Laurel nodded, "Seila will have a heart-attack!" She said looking at Derick, with pleading eyes that he does not tell anyone. Derick shook his head, "And what am I suppose to tell them when I meet up with them again?" He asked a bit angry. Maxwell spoke up in a stern and cold tone, "Nothing, you will tell them nothing." Derick watched Maxwell, with a look of disgust. Before Laurel spoke up, "Tell them that the killer works with someone." Derick asked in the same tone, "So tell them a lie?!" Laurel shook her head, "This monster can't be working by itself, it couldn't just pop in life. Someone had to make it, someone have to be controlling it." Derick calmed down, he nodded and lefted the house. He said his 'goodbyes' and walked to his home, thinking about a monster killing people gave him chills down his spine. But he had to be brave, for his mama and for who ever died to it.
