Frank stood with a huge smile; his lesson just went off without a hitch. The students were very engaged. That all changed when Paul began talking for the day.

"Alright, now I know that we have a variety of ages, heights, and weights, but no matter what, not wearing your seatbelt can send you flying. See, in the case of the crash with my wife-" 

Frank blocked out the rest of the speech. His heart aches when he was reminded of Cindy. Frank could never measure up. He was, and forever would be, second place. He was a replacement for a woman still alive. He was like when you use a lemon because you can't find a lime. He tuned back in. 

"That's how I met the love of my life. My car. Nah, I'm just playing. My wife."

The love of his life. Frank felt nauseous. What did he have? Three years of high school and a beat up mini van? He knew he could never stack up, not to the expectations nor the other person, yet his heart fluttered when the man gave him such sweet smiles, like the Garden of Eden with its sweet food of certain doom.
