Chapter 5: Girl behind the wall

It has been a few hours since Tamara's sister, Victoria, arrived at the empty hotel that she used to own. The hotel was supposed to be a safe place where Tamara, Victoria, and Elly could stay, but before they could actually live in the hotel, they had to clean up everything. Remove all the cobwebs, remove insects, remove dust, remove stains...and Tamara and Elly were already working on that, but now they had extra help from Victoria which was great because the hotel was huge and very hard to clean up with only two people. Tamara wasn't fully finished with mopping the floors because she got distracted by her sister's white truck, but now she continued mopping, while Elly was removing cobwebs on the walls with a feather duster, and Victoria was cleaning the rest of the windows. When Tamara was mopping the floor in the kitchen of the cafeteria, she found rotten food everywhere with insects like fruit flies surrounding it. There weren't only fruit flies in the kitchen, but also alot of ants and some cockroaches. "This is fucking disgusting." Tamara said when she discovered all the insects.

She knew she needed anti insect spray for this but unfortunately they didn't have any of that at the hotel, meaning somebody had to go out there to get anti insect spray. Tamara sighed in a annoyed way and put the mop back into the bucket filled with water and started to look for Elly and Victoria. After a few minutes, she found them. "Victoria." She said and Victoria turned her head around, facing Tamara. "We have a bug problem in the kitchen. Someone has to go out there to get anti insect spray." She said and Victoria started to think of a plan. "We must go together." She said. "What about Elly?" Tamara asked. They both started to think and after a few seconds, Tamara walked towards Elly and gave her her phone. "If something is wrong, call Victoria. Her number is on this phone." Tamara said and Elly nodded while holding Tamara's phone.

Tamara didn't like the idea of leaving a 16 year old girl alone in a hotel while there were creatures killing humans out there, but she had to. Both Victoria and Tamara walked towards the exit of the hotel where the guns were, still in those bags. Tamara grabbed a shotgun out of the bag and some bullets, and Victoria grabbed a smaller gun, also with bullets. They left the bullets in their pockets. They both walked out of the hotel and left the building, on their way to a store that had anti insect spray. After a few minutes of walking, Victoria noticed that Tamara was a bit off and more quiet than usual which made her worried. "You alright?" Victoria asked and Tamara shrugged. After a while, Victoria realized what was going on. She sighed softly. "I know you feel responsible for her because of what happened a few years ago, but i'm sure she'll take good care of herself." Victoria said, talking about Elly who was still at the hotel.

It didn't really seem to help her, so Victoria put a hand on her back. "If something happens to her, i won't be able to forgive myself, just like i still didn't forgive myself for what happened to Evelyn." Tamara said while not making eye contact with her sister. She was just looking around her. "It wasn't your fault, Tamara. You know it wasn't." Victoria said. Tamara sighed. "Let's just get the bug spray, i don't want to keep talking about this." She said in a bit of a annoyed tone but Victoria didn't really mind her tone. She knew how much her sister was struggling. After about 18 minutes, they arrived at the store, and it was already getting very dark which worried them because they knew the creatures were more active at night. "We have to hurry." Victoria said while they both walked into the store. It was dark in the store, the only light that was active was the light from the moon coming from outside, and a broken light that was flickering.

"Do you have a flashlight?" Victoria asked. Tamara began to search in her duty belt for one, and luckily she had one. She turned it on which made it way easier to see. They walked through the store. It was a supermarket and they knew they had anti insect spray here somewhere. They started to search everywhere, but they only saw things such as bread, cookies, candy, coke, milk...it took minutes to search, until they finally did find something. "Finally." Tamara said while grabbing a few bottles of anti insect spray but it was too much to hold. "Can you grab a bag?" She asked and Victoria ran to the checkout in the supermarket. After a minute, she ran back to her sister with a bag. Tamara threw the bottles in the bag, and then they were about to leave the supermarket again, until they heard a sound. It was the sound of metal falling on the ground which scared them a bit because they knew it was one of those creatures. "Stay here, i'm going to look." Tamara said as she walked away from Victoria and started to look for the creature. 

She carefully walked through the store and walked towards the place she thought the sound came from. After a minute or two, Tamara looked behind a small wall, and saw a girl sitting behind it with a knife next to her. When the girl saw Tamara, she gasped and began to crawl away because she was too scared to trust anyone. Tamara took a closer look and realized it was Amelia, Elly's friend. "Amelia?" Tamara said in a confused way while Amelia just stared at her in a terrified way. This explained what the sound of a metal thing falling on the floor was, it was the knife. "Amelia, i'm not going to hurt you. Please come with me." Tamara said while giving her a hand, and she took it and got off of the floor. They walked back to Victoria. "Who is this?" Victoria asked in a bit of a confused way. "Amelia, Elly's friend." Tamara introduced her to Victoria. Speaking of Elly... "Is Elly safe?" Amelia asked. Obviously she was very worried.

"Yes she is. She is at a hotel, we were about to go back there actually." Tamara explained which gave Amelia a good and relieved feeling. They started to walk away from the store with Amelia, back to the hotel. After a few minutes, Tamara started a conversation. "What happened to Amy?" She asked. "She...she got killed by one of those things." Amelia explained while starting to tear up a bit. "I'm so sorry...i can't believe how it must be for you and Elly, you are so young." Tamara said while putting her hand on Amelia's back, trying to comfort her. After a while, they arrived at the hotel. They walked into the hotel and began to search for Elly. "Elly!" Victoria yelled through the hotel which Elly heard. She walked towards them and noticed they took a girl with them, and after a few seconds, she noticed who the girl was. "AMELIA!" She yelled  while running towards her friend and giving her the biggest hug ever. Obviously, Amelia hugged back. "Holy shit Elly, i was so worried..." She said while crying a bit. They kept hugging each other for about 3 minutes, so relieved they were both safe.
