Forbidden Love

Chapter 7- The Drive

"Ladies and gentlemen, please buckle your seat belts. We are about to land."

Kameron and I quickly buckled our seat belts right as the plane was about to touch down.

We got off the plane, grabbed our luggage, and made our way out front. The was a man with a sign with my my first initial and last name on the sign. It took me minute but I recognized him as Taylyn's chauffeur, Zach. He was in his 50's and has known her for her life.

"Zack! It's so good to see you again," I said as I hugged him after dropping my luggage by the silver town car. " You look for 50... um.. sorry I forgot."

"54, Miss Aurora," he replied, laughing, as he hugged me back then put my luggage in the back of the car. He looked over at Kameron and held his hands out for his bags. Kameron politely declined then put his luggage in the trunk instead. Zach nodded then went to open my door. I always let him open it for me because a lot of the men in my life we're complete jerks and they hated to be any sort of polite to anyone.

"Thank you, Zack. You're such a gentleman," I said thinking about a few horrible guys that used to be in my life.

We were driving for about 10 minutes before Kameron started talking to me. "If I shut that little window, will he still be able to hear us talking?"

"No... Why," I asked, confused. I watched him reach over a quickly shut the window before he turned to answer me.

"We need to talk but I don't want anyone to hear us talking. 'Rora, you know that I'm dating Alex and I love him so much but lately he's been really suspicious because we've been hanging out a lot lately. He knows that I care deeply for you but, because he knows that, he thinks that cheating on him with you and that that is the reason we live with you not because you're my best friend. I need to make amends with him so after this trip I'm moving out and into our own apartment. He's packing all of our stuff and moving it to our apartment. I love you, Aurora, but I'm leaving after this I'm gone. I'm so sorry."

I sat there in shock trying to process the information that my best friend, my love, was going to actually leave me. He was breaking his promise to me. Growing up, everyone I loved would leave and never come back so throughout my life I always felt alone. At least until I met him. He was the one person I could always rely on to be for me.

~flashback~

It was mid December, 1AM and pouring outside but that doesn't stop me. I continued to knock, no, pound on Kameron's door. After about a good 5 minutes, a drowsy Kameron opened the door. His black hair was ruffled and pointing in every direction.

"Rora, what are you doing here at this unholy hour in the morning," he asked looking at me obviously confused.

"My mom just died."

That woke him fast. He knew that she has been battling breast cancer for 3 years now. She was always in a lot pain and her condition had gotten even worse since my dad died. For the past week, she has been in the ICU under constant. She passed on about 20 minutes ago and I needed comfort of someone outside my family. That's what lead me here, on his front porch, cold and soaking wet with makeup streaming down my face.

He pulled into a tight hug. His touch was warm and comforting. Kameron pulled me into his house and lead me into his living room.

"Aurora.. I'm so sorry. I know how close you are to her."

We just sat here for a while as I cried into his chest. I let out all of my frustration, grief, stress, and confusion. He just sat there holding me close just letting me let out everything. "I'm all alone now, Kam. My brother, Daniel, is living England with his wife and now both of my parents are up in heaven," I said as tears flood down my face," I'm alone."

"Shhhh... How about you stay with me tonight? Daniel's in charge of your mom's things. I have something for you to wear so that you don't get hypothermia because you were out in the freezing cold in the rain."

It wasn't long before I was laying in Kameron's arms in a baggy t-shirt and a pair of sweats I had left here last time I spent the night. "Kam..? Will you always be with me? I don't want to be alone.."

He held me closely and whispered in my ear . " I promise that I'll always be by your side , forever and always. No matter who comes into my life, you will always be my #1. I will never leave you. Never."

That night I was able to sleep soundly knowing that I always had him by me. Forever.

~end flashback~

Until now, he's kept that promise. I just stared at him feeling hurt and betrayed. He looked away from me and stared out of one of the windows. I wanted to cry, to scream, to just be held by him one last time to feel like I wasn't alone. One last time. I thought he loved me. He told me that he loved me more than Alex. I guess it was just a lie. It was all a lie.

~soo sorry that I haven't updated at all but I've been busy doing nothing sorry.... I kind of just took a break for the summer from my book~
