Charlie Greene is my name, being confused was my game.
Have you ever felt something, but were too afraid to act on it? Like, you were so scared of what people would think of you if they knew. Yeah, me too, but sometimes, doing what makes you happy is what you need to do. It doesn't matter what the others think because it's your life, not theirs. If they don't agree with what you're doing and they don't support you, then they were never worth your time in the first place.

"Charlie, are you still studying?" my best friend Ruby asked from over the phone. I rolled my eyes.
"Why wouldn't I be, Rubes? Exams are in a week, do you not care about anything?" I laughed lightly, but I actually wondered if she did. Ruby and I were almost complete opposites, but that's what made us such great friends.
Where I was shy and kind of scared of everything, she was outgoing and courageous. She was risky and I was careful. I was straight, and, well, Ruby wasn't. We were like Ying and Yang. It was nice to have someone so different from me in my life because I grew up closed-minded.
When I met Ruby in the tenth grade, we kind of clashed a bit. I thought she was too loud and obnoxious. She was openly gay and wasn't ashamed. Ruby got bullied for it a lot though. That's how it happened.
Walking through the halls, I heard something being rammed into a locker. I quickly turned the corner to see what was going on. What I saw was heartbreaking. Ruby Rose was being beaten up.
"Stupid dike!" one of the bullies said. I had to stop it. I just had to. I didn't care if Ruby and I didn't get along, I couldn't just sit and let it happen. I would never be able to forgive myself.
"Hey, back the hell off!" I grabbed one of them by their hair and pulled them off of her.
"What do you think that's okay? Are you a homo too, Greene? Wouldn't surprise me. You have that look about you." I pushed them away. Not answering because that question was ridiculous. Of course, I was straight. I went to church, for goodness sake.
Once the teachers finally saw what was happening, the others ran away, leaving Ruby and I alone. The teacher, Mr. London asked if we were okay. She quickly said yes before I could say anything and he left.
"Why did you lie? You're obviously hurt, Ruby. . ." I grabbed her face and examined the scratch on her forehead. "This is going to leave a scar. "Ruby just chuckled and looked at me with a weird expression that I couldn't read very well.
"What?"
She smirked, "Nothing, just. . . thank you. I don't know what would've happened if it weren't for you. I owe you." Her Australian accent startled me, I never really cared to notice it before.
"Just promise me you'll stay out of trouble okay?" I smiled softly.
"I can't promise that," Ruby stated while getting up and heading down the hall, but not before turning back and winking at me.
That day was a major event in my life. It gave me responsibility and someone I needed in my life. I don't know how I ever survived without Ruby. We're inseparable.

I hope this holds you off for awhile. I'm working on the story a lot.I really hope you guys enjoy reading this because I'm super excited about all of this.I recently finished OITNB and I thought this needed to be done because Ruby Rose is the definition of perfection.
The next chapter will be up really soon and will have a lot more to do with the story. I just felt the need to address how they met right away. It tells you a bit about Charlie Greene and who she is, but not to the max. Other chapters will do that.
Anyway, vote, comment something nice or criticize me, follow if you want, and don't forget to stay beautiful ❤
