Her eyes darted between the redhead then to Klaus then back again. She noticed the fear in Klaus' eyes and the jealously in the redhead's. She knew what they were or just had an inkling.
But Evelyn could sense that this woman was dangerous. Powerful even, given how she was standing. Like she could take on anyone that until she had walked in.
Klaus on the other hand, could not mask his emotions - as much as she's heard of the monster Klaus, this is where he has failed - her.
His weakness was her.
His wife. His partner. His love.
The silence between the three was interrupted by the redhead, watching as she took a step closer to her, "Nik, care to tell me who this is?"
Oh, she was fuming. Rageful, even. That Evelyn could sense off of her.
"Aurora" he spoke gravely, "This is Evelyn, my wife"
"Your wife?" Spoke Aurora, disbelief in her voice, "You didn't tell me you had a wife"
"It's quite complicated, actually" Klaus spoke, his eyes lingered towards her, his eyes softening as he thought of her.
Evelyn spoke, "Klaus and I may be married but do not love each other. It's simply a marriage of convenience" she technically wasn't lying but just spinning the truth a little bit. The part where they didn't love each other was true, well on her part, Klaus on the other hand would do anything for her.
"Care to tell me who this lovely lady is?" Evelyn spoke, her voice calm despite wanting to rip out Aurora's throat. With her teeth, preferably.
Klaus spoke, his eyes still lingering onto her, "This is Aurora De Martel, the first vampire that Rebekah created"
Rebekah? Who the fuck was that?? If she was to guess, maybe his sister?
He did not stop there as he spoke again, his voice gentle and quiet, "And one of the few women I have fallen in love with"
Love? His lover?
Evelyn felt a sense of jealously wash over her, her hands clenching at the thought of these two together.
How could he be with this woman when he was her, his wife, his love. No, she didn't like this one bit. Not at all.
"I must be going" Aurora spoke, her eyes lingering on Klaus'. How dare she look at him? Thought Evelyn. This man, who she did not love one bit in the slightest was with another woman.
Oh, she knew that there was an ulterior motive to Aurora, after all she was Evelyn Herondale.
"Nik" she spoke to Klaus, bidding him farewell, her eyes lingered back to his then to her, the feeling of resentment coming off of in waves.
And then she was gone.
"What are you doing here?!" Klaus howled at her, unable to control his temper. No, not temper - his concern for her.
Evelyn huffed out, "What am I doing here? What are you doing here, especially with that woman!" She couldn't help yell back but at this point, she was angry, confused and as much as she didn't want to admit - she was jealous.
"Why are you so aggravated?" Klaus calmly spoke, taking a step towards her. She didn't step back.
Evelyn breathed through her nose, the rage flowing through her in waves as she struggled not to yell out. Instead she swallowed her rage and spoke out, clearly aggravated at her husband, "Why am I - how dare she even touch you right now" she hadn't meant to say that to him becasue it was clear - she did not love him. She did not know him. Yet, she felt something with him.
