Tamryn Sandler
Today's a big day. I said trying to get myself excited for the day, I had another job interview today. This would be my 8th job interview this week, and I was not feeling it.
I did my morning routine and joined Kayla for breakfast. I poured some milk in my bowl and grabbed the box of cereal. I poured some in and got to munching.
"Tammy, I have something to tell you." She said, and that look on her face told me it wasn't good. "Shoot." I said with a mouth full of cereal. "Well, what do you want first, the good news or bad news?" She said shyly. I swallowed the cereal in my mouth. I let out a heavy sigh and dropped my spoon into my bowl.
"Give me the bad news first." I said. "Hmm... I think the good news sounds better first." She said nervously with a smile on her face. I sighed and signaled her to continue while I continued eating. "Well, I got a new job, and it pays way more than the previous one." She said and waited for my reaction. "That's good, in fact, that's great." I said happy for her but I can't forget, "so what's the bad news?" I asked. "Well, it's...it's thejobyouhadappleidforandgotbutrejected." She mumbled.
"Huh?" I asked, being more observant of her this time around. She took in a deep breath. "It's the job you applied for and got, but rejected." She finally said, and it took me a moment to comprehend what she just told me. I almost choked on my cereal.
I looked at her and started laughing, thinking she was just joking. After a few seconds, it really sinked in. "Kayla, tell me you're joking." I said, and she just looked to the floor. I immediately lost my appetite, and I grabbed my bag and made my way out of the apartment. "Tammy, wait -" I heard her say just before I slammed the door shut behind me.
I wasn't mad at Kayla, I was mad at myself for being so stupid and stubborn and rejecting the job. Now I am stuck with nowhere to go and still struggling to find a job.
This is just great.

"Hi, I'm looking for the manager?" I said to the man standing behind the bar table. He gave me a quick look up and down before screaming, "Jerry!" And a door behind him flew open. "What is it now?" Jerry questioned in an annoyed tone. "This beautiful young lady would like to speak with you." He ushered pointing to me. Jerry sighed and signaled to the door on the side, indicating I should come through, which I did.
I walked into the back and down the small hallway, to where Jerry was standing, and then we walked to his office. "Take a seat, Ms..." "Sandler, Tamryn Sandler, but you can call me Tammy." I said, finishing his sentence.
"Tammy. What's the special occasion." He said in a bored tone.
"Oh, I-uhh, I saw that you were looking for a waitress online." I said scrambling to fined my resume in my backpack, then handed it to him.
"Oh well I sorry to have wasted your time and mine, but that position got taken up this morning." He said, glancing at my resume in his hand.
"Oh." I said, letting out a sigh, "well, thank you anyway." I said with a small smile, gathering my things."
*BANG!*
The door to Jerry's office flew open. "I'm done!" An angry woman said while untying her apron.
"Bella, what is it this time!?" Jerry exclaimed.
"Im done with all this bullshit, I'm not doing it anymore!" Bella shouted. With that, she threw her apron on Jerry's desk.
"Bella, wait!" Jerry shouted as Bella walked out the door.
Jerry sighed and looked up at me. "Oh, I was just leaving -"
"No, wait!" Jerry exclaimed, frustrated."It seems the position just opened up. You still want the job?" He questioned, an annoyed look plastered on his face.
"Yes! Thank you." I said excitedly."When do I start?" I asked.
Jerry sighed. "How about now."

"Jacob will show you around. If there's any problems, and they better not be, you know where to find me." Jerry said with that he left me at the front of the bar.
"Jacob." The guy from earlier said, extending his hand for me to shake.
"Tamryn, but you can call me Tammy." I said, shaking his hand.
"Nice to meet you, Tammy." He said with a friendly smile.
"Nice to meet you too." I said.
"I hope you know how to be a waiter, I can't teach you much about that." He said in joking tone.
"Oh yeah, I'll be fine. I've done this before, so I don't think I'll need much help."
"Yeah, but you'll need a hell of a lot of patience." He said, letting out a nervous laugh.
"Is that why Bella just quit." I asked.
"That and more. Just wait and see." He said. With that, I got the feeling that working here wasn't going to be a peace of cake.
I must admit, though, I dont think working anywhere was a piece of cake. Each place came with its own problems. You just need to adjust. But never in a million years was I ready for what this clubs problems were.
I must admit, I was adement about working here, but I need the money, for a club waitress, the pay is really good. Then again, this was one of the elite clubs and not just some underground party. The entry fee for this club is actually outrageous. Just paying to get in is outrageous. Who in their right mind spends $100 trying to get in a club where the alcohol is also pretty expensive. Then again, that explains all the rich ppl here.
"Hi, I'll be your waiter for tonight. What can I get you men to start." I said with a smile on my face.
"We'll have a bottle of your most expensive." A man said with a huge smile on his face. "We must celebrate!" He laughed. "Oh, and 3 rounds of the rainbow shots." He exclaimed.
"Would that be all."
"For now, of course, sweetheart."
"I'll have a glass of scotch. No ice." Another guy said, and I went back to the bar to get their order ready.
"One bottle of our most expensive, 3 rounds of rainbow shots for a group of 6, oh and one glass of scotch, no ice." I said in a proud manner.
"We must celebrate!" I said, mimicking the guy who placed an order.
Jacob laughed. "It seems you might be getting a huge tip tonight."
"Yeah a real big one. That bottle cost $7000! Those ppl are crazy!" I exclaimed, keeping my voice down.
"Yeah, well, when your rich like them, $7000 is like spending $7." Jacob and I laughed.
I took the bucket and delivered it first. "Here you go."
"All right, let's get this party started!" The guys screamed, grabbing the bottle from the ice bucket. I quickly left, going back to get the rest of their orders. I came back placing the tray of shots on their table and handing the other guy his glass of scotch.
As I turned to leave, the guy grabbed my hand.
"Excuse me, I'm pretty sure I emphasized no ice." I turned to look and imagine my disbelief seeing him again.
