Rudra slowly blinked his eyes open as the morning sunbeams danced into his room. The warm glow gently touched his face, coaxing him from his slumber. As he tried to get up he felt something heavy on his hand and looked his side only to find Ruhi in deep sleep. A smile crept on his lips as he gently creased her face...she looked cute with that agape mouth pout on her face!
Ruhi smiled in her sleep when she felt his touch, and Rudra immediately pulled back as he remembered everything. The words from the past and what she had said to Mrs. Khanna yesterday. His sister didn't come back for him...it was all out of pity, something he never needed, especially not from his own child. If she wanted him to stay away, he was willing to do so. If she didn't want to see his face, he was willing to comply. But he would never... His thoughts trailed off as Ruhi rested her head on his chest, causing him to freeze. His hands itched to pull her closer, to caress her head, to lovingly kiss her forehead, but he held back... too scared to face rejection!
"Sorry," Ruhi mumbled softly. She woke up the moment she felt her Dada's touch but didn't react, hoping against hope that he would pull her closer, caress her head lovingly like he used to do back then. However, he did nothing, making her realize how badly she had hurt him.
When Rudra didn't respond, she sighed and sat up straight, facing him. "Can we talk, Dada? Please."
Rudra pulled his hand back from hers and got out of bed, heading towards the washroom.
"Dada!" Ruhi called out slowly, but Rudra ignored her and walked into the washroom, closing the door. A clear dismissal!
Ruhi stretched her legs and stomped them on the bed like a toddler before lying back down. She is way more stubborn than her brothers. She can handle anything except for that damn annoying silence!
As Rudra stood under the shower, he closed his eyes and let the cold water help him calm his mind. He has made many tough choices in his life for himself and his siblings, and he never regretted any of them. For him, where there is love, there is no room for regrets!!
He was hurt by Ruhi, but not because of the words she said to him. He understood that it was the situation and circumstances that led his kid to behave that way. In fact, he never felt hurt by the words his siblings said to him. Even if he did feel hurt, it was only in that moment, and later he would forget about it. After all, they are his siblings. If they can't come to him to express their frustrations, then who else will they turn to?
Family is not just an option for Rudra Khanna! His siblings, his kids, his loved ones are not just an options for him. When he heard Ruhi say that she would be leaving the country, he felt something inside him break apart.
For the past six years, he had been away from his sister, but he still kept an eye on her every move... with Abhay's help. His twin never questioned why; he just did what he was asked, something he was grateful for! He knew how Ruhi completed her studies through homeschooling, he knew how she waited for him every year, for his calls. Despite living in the same country, same city, he couldn't meet Ruhi, and that hurt him more than the words she threw at him. Some things are inevitable!!! But now her talking about leaving him behind all over again when he just got her back...he didn't knew how to react to that!
Shaking off his thoughts, he walked out of the washroom only to find Ruhi scrolling through HIS phone. He ignored her and made his way towards the dresser.
"Yaar Dada ek bhi accha game nhi hai aapke phone mai. Just throw it away," Ruhi complained. When he didn't respond, she glared at his back...she needs a reaction!
