Platonic Soulmate AU (PSAU)

This is a Platonic Soulmate AU inspired from AnimationNut's PSAU of red vs blue: Piece by Piece.

I enjoy it extremely, increasing my love for rvb and getting a concept of the PSAU

Since the explanation is basically similar to AnimationNut's PSAU, since I favor the way that it works, this mostly changes events from their original stories and adds what if scenarios.

There are 2 different types of Soulmates;
Platonic and Romantic

Platonic Soulmates act as close family, using colored handprints from their soulmate

Romantic Soulmates act as their significant other, and will have their name in cursive on their handprints

Both are similar in many things

Once you have your soulmate's mark, you can feel their emotions from anywhere

When placing their hands on their partner's soulmark, it allows them to Soul-Link in the Soul Realm

Soul-Bonding is usually required every once in a while, or else it affects you and your soulmates. It can also help calm a soulmate who's in emotional distress or anything mentally related

When Soul-Bonding/Linking, you can access your soulmate's memories

Every person's soul gives a distinctive scent when Soul-Bonding.

Soulmates can create emotional barriers to block out emotions from Soulmates temporarily. Emotional barriers are very limited and only those with a strong control of their emotions can properly construct one

REMEMBER NOTHING IS HIDDEN FROM SOULMATES, ESPECIALLY IN THE SOUL REALM!!

For clarification;

If a Soul-Link is forcefully disconnected, they will have this uncomfortable burning feeling in both participant's souls until the Soul-Link is finished (You don't get to choose your soulmates, after all)

-Soulmates can't read minds.

-Though soulmates can feel each other's emotions, they can't feel the meaning behind their emotions.

If their soulmate is asleep/unconscious, you won't be able to feel their emotions

If a soulmate dies, their marking becomes charred.
