We were on the bus to school. It's been a week since Erma arrived, and they had grown close, hanging out and having fun. Amy had been noticing and brought it up.
"You've been hanging around Erma for awhile now." She says. I turn to her. "Are you jealous?" Elliot ask with a smirk. "No! Of course not, but im wondering why, you know?" She defends, but he can see through her, since I see her hitting Terry if he said something like that. "I don't know, I resonate with her alot, aside from her looks, she is very interesting, intriguing, mysterious. My Soul gets this crushing feeling when I am around her, and-""You have a crush." Amy says, cutting him off. "I do?" I ask. "Yeah, people get that feeling when they have a crush on someone. It's soo cute." She answers. Elliot wondered how, or if he would approach Erma with this info.
___
Elliot was watching Erma play hopscotch with the other girls when a boy named Connor approaches her with a flower. When she took it, it wilted, making the boy feel down. Erma kisses him on the cheek. Seeing this made Elliot feel jealous, angry, and a little sad. Elliot wondered if he should threaten Connor to stay away, but he wasn't that kind of person, plus, who knows what would happen if he did do that. Instead, Elliot sighed, before walking off.
Later, in class, Erma came up to Elliot and handed him an invitation to watch a movie at Erma's house. Elliot was surprised for a second, before smiling. "Sure, y'know I wouldn't turn down such an invitation." He responds. Erma smiles, gives a nod, before handing out the rest of the invitations to her friends. He noticed Connor also got one, which soured the mood a bit, but decided to not let that ruin tonight. Elliot was forced out of thought when Amy made a loud eek sound, due to Erma spinning her head 180° when she asked her for a pencil.
___
Elliot was surprised when he realized Erma's house wasn't far from his. He shrugged as he went to knock on the door. A man answers the door, he has blonde, short hair with glasses. Comparing him with Erma, he didn't see any resemblance since he looks more human, and Erma, doesn't. Just in case, Elliot asks; "Are you Erma's dad?" He nods. "Yes I am. You must be here for the movie night. Come in." I walk in. The house was a nice house, like any other resident, he would guess. Pictures of Erma and her parents were on the walls, and I can see that Erma got everything from her mom. She is a very beautiful woman, and Elliot wouldn't doubt that Erma would look exactly like her mom.
The similarity was soo on point, that if he had a picture of just Erma and Just her mom, he would've thought that Erma was just her mom's past picture. Elliot eventually got into the living room, where Erma was waving. She seemed to have saved a spot between her and Amy, which was weirdly considerate. Elliot sat down, and looked at Amy questionably. Amy noticed his inquisitive look, and shrugged, not knowing why Erma did what she did. So at least she didn't tell her.
Elliot looked to what they were watching the ring. She must love horror, even though he wouldn't understand why her parents would let her watch stuff like this at her age. Any normal kid would be scared shitless. Speaking of which, he saw Connor and Terry scared as fuck. So was Amy, but she was handling it a little better. Erma was just laughing and pointing at death.
___
After awhile, everyone had fallen asleep, except Connor, and Amy. Connor went to the bathroom, probably to shake off all that horror. The movie was getting close to ending, but a jumpscare made Amy latch onto Elliot's right arm. Elliot felt a surge through his Soul, and his body jolted. Elliot's left hand instinctively grabs, and latches onto Amy's left forearm that was wrapping around his. He felt her hand grip right above his elbow. In that moment, he started feeling her emotions; shocked, confused, scared. Mostly the last one was mostly from the movie. Elliot knew she must've felt his emotions too. Shocked, confused, fear. He couldn't move his hand away, like something was keeping it still. The smell of fresh paint resonated in his nose as this was happening.
What the hell is happening? Huh!? Elliot thought, but made a surprised huh sound when he was hearing his thoughts, and not just his. Elliot? What's going on? Amy asked him. I dunno. It doesn't hurt, are you okay? I asked her. Yes, actually. I'm feeling...calmer. She responded, and he knew that. He felt her calming presence from her Soul, reacting to the comfort Elliot had given her from the movie scare. Amy's calm feeling reciprocated back to Elliot, and all they could feel was each other's warmth through their Souls. A clicking sound was heard, and Elliot realized he can move his hand freely again. When he let go, he noticed a white handprint that he left on her forearm. Amy had left a yellow handprint on Elliot's arm.
They both look at each other. "What was that?" Elliot asked. "I...I don't know." Amy responded. Her hand was feeling the handprint he left. Elliot noticed that the handprint he left on Amy had a crack in the center, which looked exactly like Elliot's damages on his Soul. Elliot winced at that.
"Your Soul is damaged?" Amy asks him. Elliot was shocked that she knew. "I feel your shock, so I can guess what you're about to say." Elliot then realized that he can still feel her emotions. She was concerned and worried about Elliot. A feeling he knows she never held towards him in any way until now.
"I felt like I was navigating through your Soul, and I saw some...horrible memories..." Amy says, tearing up now. She felt rage and sorrow for what Elliot went through. No child should have to go through that. Elliot didn't have a response, not that he'd need to anyways, since she already knows. Elliot instinctively went back to his handprint on her arm. He felt his Soul linking with hers. Amy did the same, and reached for her handprint. Elliot gave her his comfort and reassurance that he's fine. Amy's sadness started to fade a bit, but the pain she saw him go through still left a stinging sensation in her Soul. Elliot tried searching into her memories, but nothing that sticks out, her childhood seems fine and her memories are what to be expected from kids. Not that everyone gets that leisure, however.
I didn't know how hard your life was... Amy tells him. It's okay. I never expected anyone to know that. He tells her. Mostly cause he'd probably never tell anyone. Still, I'm here for you whenever you need it. Amy says, snuggling closer into his arm. She felt Elliot's joy swell as he smiles. The two spend the night Soul bonding, keeping each other in bliss.
