Back to School

Elliot wasn't sure how kids at school would react when he came back with a yellow handprint on his arm. Even if he did hide it, though he wears short sleeved shirts, he'd have 19 more eventually, maybe. And after then, how would he hide all of them? How does Amy feel about the situation? He remembers that he can feel her feelings now, and he searches for her Soul. Amy was feeling much better about it than him. He can feel some doubt, and a little anxiety, but she's more positive of the situation.

Elliot wasn't.

He was worried, stressed, and anxious about what other teachers, or kids would think. What would the other kids think, or do? Dwelling on it wasn't helping, so he pulled out a joint to smoke. He was 70% sure Amy knew about his habits, not that he'd stop just cause she asked him to. He's still new to this Soulmark thing, and having a....what does he call them? He doesn't know the term for what they were, but regardless, he wasn't planning on stopping his hobbies any time soon.

___

Smoking the joint made him feel better, and that's good, cause he doesn't think it'd be wise to Soul bond during class, or even on the bus. And knowing kids, they'd probably think they were a couple, but they aren't. Elliot sighs as his confrontation to this problem drew closer.

The bus arrived to pick Elliot up, and he sat next to Amy. He looks to her for reassurance, and Amy felt this, and gives him a reassuring smile. It did help a bit, even without Soul bonding. So far nobody knows. Erma was too busy with Amy's cat, Terry is just ignorant, and Felicia was busy babysitting Erma. He hadn't bothered to hide it, but nobody pointed it out. He figures Amy's mark would be more noticeable than his, given where the marks are located.

Elliot looks outside to see Erma and Her mom adding Erma's lunch to her. She gets on the bus and greets them. "Heya Erma. You and your mom really look similar, huh?" Elliot asks. Erma nods in response. She sits next to them across from their seat. He tries not to be so nervous about it, as he doesn't want to give off any sign of change. Since it was February, he couldn't use his jacket, so he wore a longer sleeved shirt that covers his left bicep. Amy, however. Didn't really have anything to cover her soulmark, since it's position is on her left forearm, she couldn't hide it.

Elliot jolted in fear when he heard Terry notice Amy's mark. "Yo, Amy, what's with the handprint?" He asks her. "OH, uhh, Elliot pulled a....prank on me." She lies. "Oh, that's pretty funny." Terry says, believing it. Lucky for them he isn't the brightest. Sylvia wasn't too convinced. "Oh yeah? Then why didn't you wash it off?" His pupils dissappear from his eyes. He thinks Erma noticed. Before Amy could answer them, the bus arrived at school. "Oh, look at that! We're here!" Amy says quickly as she gets up to leave the bus. Elliot does the same, but takes his time. He feels her panic increasing during that conversation. He wanted to at least see if she was okay.

He sensed Amy was in the bathrooms. Lucky enough not alot of girls use the bathroom during this time. "Amy? You okay?" He asks her from outside. "You should know, shouldn't you!?" She shouts back. He kept forgetting that they can feel each other's emotions. "Right, sorry..." He answers back, rubbing his head. She walks out of the bathroom to face him. "It's hard to lie to our friends about the situation that they'll find out about anyways, except Terry." She tells him. "I know, but it's just difficult for me to just bring it up. It's not simple for me to tell our friends, and other kids around us, that me and you held each other's arms during a scary movie night which caused our hands to be stuck in place and now have permanent handprints that reflect off the color and look of our SOULS, and can now telepathically feel each other's emotions at all times and can do this personal intimate bonding experience?" Elliot says, leaving Amy stunned.

"I believe you." Someone says behind them. They turned around to see Sylvia standing there. "Sylvia!" Elliot and Amy say in unison. "How long were you standing there!?" Elliot asks. "I followed you after I saw you looking for Amy." She answers, arms folded. "Wait, Sylvia, let us explain!" Amy says, but Sylvia puts a hand up. "No need. I have a handprint as well." Sylvia reveals, shocking both Elliot and Amy. "What?" Elliot questions. Sylvia turns around and lifts her shirt up, revealing a dark purple handprint on her upper back. They both are both suprised and shocked.

"Wait, what!? Where did you get yours from!?" Elliot questions. "I got this from my older sister. She tells me they're Soulmarks." She responded. "I knew that, do you know anything else?" Elliot tells her. She rolls her eyes. "Well, do you know that you've been Soul linking with Amy? Did you know it was a Soul Bond?" She responded sassy. "Alright, no, I didn't, but I figured it was something related to that." Elliot admits. "Is there anything else we should know?" Amy spoke up. Sylvia thought for a moment. "The link between SOULS takes you to a realm called the 'Soul Realm'. That's why you can look through memories, read each others thoughts, the smell of their SOUL, and the sensing of each other's feelings." The word 'Soul Realm' intrigued Elliot. He never would've thought that another realm would take part in this. "That's about all that I know." Sylvia continued. Elliot nodded in acknowledgement.

"So, is our secret safe?" Amy asks. Sylvia smiles. "Of course I will, even if you suck at hiding your marks. Seriously, wear longer sleeves if you plan on hiding it." She responds. Elliot scratches the back of his head and looks away as Amy holds her arm, where her mark lies. "By the way, my sister also told me that we learn about this in school in a few years anyways, so just wait till then." Sylvia adds, before leaving to class. Elliot turns to Amy, shrugging. "Guess we'll have to see how the day goes." Elliot says, already feeling that Amy feels better. Amy nods in agreement with him, both walking to class.
