Being alone in my room
Yet loneliness feels so far away
In the middle of a crowd
Loneliness becomes my only companion
Conversations flowing around me
But I am not able to catch those words as they fly past me
I don’t why?
Is it because they are too quiet for me to hear or is it because they are too loud for me to understand?
Old me feels like someone I used to know
To whom keeping their mouth shut was impossible
But now uttering two words is suffocating
I changed myself to stop them
Now they are blaming me for being silent
With the same mouth
That once told me to shut up
There are so many people to talk with
But no one wants to hear the real me
What my mind wanted was solitude
But my surroundings could only provide loneliness.
