"If it ain't broke, don't fix it. You always tryna poke the bear." Loki told his friend and co worker as they stared at the prototype of the car design they were designing together. Both Loki and his friend, Reese went to college together enrolling in classes like fine arts, industrial design and automotive design. Reese was employed at this specific building but Loki was freelance, giving consultations, presentations and design ideas all over. He didn't want to stay in one spot with all the places Philly had to offer.
"You know imma perfectionist, tryna make sure this jawn pitch perfect! We be working on this for months and if my boss got a problem, I might just lose it on his ass." Loki shook his head patting his friend shoulder.
"Stop sweating it man, ain't no reason to say no. This gone break the scale in car psychics. Ain't nobody doing it like this." Loki said in awe of the prototype that had been designing for six months. It took an additional six months just to sketch and plan it all out, so in total that had put a year into this and Loki was proud, he always was proud of his work.
His father was always a big car person, and because of that? He became one as well.
"You keep staring at it, you only gonna find more shit to nitpick. Let's go take a break, get some sun. Been cooped up in this office all day."
"I remember you was never the office type." Reese laughed, Loki shrugged before responding."I still can't believe you is."
Reese and Loki walked out the office room and walked towards the elevators as Reese passed some of his co workers greeting them as Loki gave slight head nods. Reese looked over at Loki and smiled, he was one of the dudes you didn't even remember how or why yall became friends. It was one of those things that kind of happened randomly and you didn't question it too much.
"So how's ya' family? Settled down yet?"
"I ain't settling down, at least not in this life time. My mom is..well her but Leilani had some issues at her dorm so she moved in with me."
"Issues like what?"
"Hell if I know, nigga. You know Leilani, she always is some dumb petty bullshit. I told her I rather her live with me then kicked out of college over some that can be resolved by her just leaving."
"That's good of you, family everything man. Yo mom still be on some crazy shit?"
"Man when ain't she on some crazy shit? She's been like that since I was born. I don't even think she was born sane. I can't talk to her for tooo long, I call her every once in a while to make sure she kicking? Then I hang up."
"I don't see how you just let her slide with the shit she be on, her ass really don't phase you huh?"
"Wondering why she do the shit she do gone drive you crazy. That's why I hate when Leilani get into it with her because she be tryna understand her and she take everyone out mama say to heart. You can't understand someone that ain't fucking sane, and you shouldn't try." Reese shook his head.
