Chapter 6

{three days later}

~Davis' POV~
I wonder how Tai's holding up. I should check on him. He hasn't left the room after our chat that day. I grabbed a hold of the handle and am about to turn it when Uta's hand rested over mine, stopping me. I look up at her with a slightly confused face and she shakes her head silently as if to say 'don't do it. He needs some time.'. I let go of the handle and turn to walk away when Kari, T.K and Yolei come over. they twitch their heads and make a face as if to tell me 'go in. He needs someone to talk to.' We all gather by the door and discuss it quietly.

"He should go in. His brother needs him!" Kari insisted. "But, shouldn't he be alone? I mean she still hasn't woken up yet and it's been three days! it's not that long. Just wait a bit." Uta argued. "But Uta, he's really depressed here. He hasn't left his seat for anything! Not even food or water!" Yolei pointed out. Eventually after arguing for a few minutes, they decided to go in. I grabbed the handle and pushed on the door slightly. "Tai?" I asked quietly. "Hey." He replied bluntly. You could hear sadness in his voice. "Come on dude! Cheer up! She'll be up and at it before you know it!" I insisted as cheerfully as I could. He only sat there in silence. I could see something silver drop from his drooping face.

A tear. "Da** it! It's my fault! I should have protected her! Instead of being protected...." He cried accusingly. He balled his fist and smashed it against his knees. He stood up and I gave him a hug. I could feel his wet tears on my shoulder, but I didn't care. Just then I saw Ren digitally disappear and in her place was a fresh new digi egg. It was bigger than a normal one though. It was chocolate brown with minty green stripes. "Huh? What's that?" I asked confused. Tai wiped his tears on his sleeve and smiled. It's vocalmon! Ren's digi egg!" He cried. He picked it up and it cracked. Inside was Ren. As if none of that fight ever happened. The digi egg disappeared and vocalmon floated into Tai's arms.

~Tai's POV~
Her minty green eyes fluttered open staring at me as she recollected what had been going on. "Tai!" She gasped and gave me a hug. Her small arms wrapped around me warmly and I cried happily. I could feel her crying on my shoulder too. "I love you." She whispered happily. "I love you too!" I cried, gripping her tighter. I fell to my knees and she slid out of my arms onto her knees. My arms moved around her waist as if by instinct and I just held her closer to me.

~Ren's POV~
I cried happily, as the others joined our hug. Our wet tears enveloped us, but we didn't care. We loosened our grip on each other and I held a finger to my eye trying to stop crying. "I'm sorry, I just can't stop..." I managed to say through tears. I couldn't find the words to explain my happiness. "It's fine.... I missed you." He replied. He never stopped hugging me. We just sat there together with all the digi destined.
