The Secret Life of Lisa Johnson

Quiet

Lisa was getting worried. They had stayed silent for what seemed like hours. Suddenly, there was a loud bang. Lisa's heart skipped a beat.

Agent Zero pressed against the wall of the vent.

"What are you doing?" Lisa whispered.

"Shhhh." Agent Zero whispered back.

Lisa immediately knew something was wrong. She decided not to ask.

She quietly made her way to the screen of the vent so she could see for herself. At first, Agent Zero tried to stop her, but then he gave up. She would have to find out sometime.

Lisa looked outside. At first she didn't see anything, but then she saw there were large black vans parked on the street. Then, she noticed that there were many men and women in dark dress suits. She saw one of them and she remembered the face from earlier. It was another agent.

They are arresting the agents! Lisa thought. No wonder Agent Zero is being so cautious.

Lisa had many questions about the scene in front of her. She couldn't understand why the agents, of all people, were being arrested.

"We need to move now." whispered Agent Zero.

"But what if they come back?" Asked Lisa in a whisper.

It had been about half an hour since the rest of the agents were arrested.

"We will figure that out when it comes. Right now we need to move." Agent Zero assured her.

He started to again take off the vent screen. He quietly placed the screen to the side. Then, Agent Zero looked around. When he saw there wasn't anything there, he started to climb out of the vent.

When both Agent Zero and Lisa had their feet on the ground, Agent zero lead Lisa to his car.

"Computer, what is the latest news on Mckenzie Lantz?" Agent Zero asked the computer in his car.

"Welcome, Agent Zero, the latest is that Mckenzie Lantz has escaped, yet again, from another high security prison. She has sent orders to someone located in Hortonville, Wisconsin." Replied a voice from the car.

"Orders for what?" Questioned Agent Zero.

"Unknown." replied the car.

"Where are we going?" Asked Lisa.

"A library." Said Agent Zero bluntly.

"Okay." Said Lisa a bit confused. She decided not to ask anything more.

When they arrived at the library, Agent Zero parked in the back parking lot. It was hidden by large trees, colorful flowers, bushes, and surrounded by a white picket fence.

Lisa walked around and felt like she was in a fairytale garden. Agent Zero escorted her into the library. When hey where inside, the librarian asked, "Can I help you?"

"Um, yes. We are looking for the biography section." Replied Agent Zero.

"Down that way,"said the librarian pointing to the left, "and towards the back in the right."

"Thank you." Said Agent Zero grabbing Lisa's arm and quickly leading her away.

When they got here he let go.

"Ow! What was that for?" Questioned Lisa quietly.

"Sorry." Agent Zero plainly stated. He was carefully scanning the shelves for something. "Look for a book called Mckenzie: a Biography it's written by Mckenna Mullock."

"Okay." Lisa huffed boredly.

Suddenly, Lisa heard Agent Zero whisper, "I found it. Come over here."

She walked over to where she thought she heard him from. He wasn't there. She looked in two other isles. She didn't find him. She started to worry. Suddenly, she saw him sitting in a comfy chair at a table reading and taking notes.
