V: "I want this to stay between us, okay? I'm still debating whether to tell it or not, and needless to say, I'm not proud at all of what I did"

Each of those present nodded in response.

V: "Phew... Here we go"

-----------------------------------------------

This happened quite a while ago, enough to have had other outings and "friendly" encounters with more people, but as I see that their stories are anything but normal, I think it's fair to share this one. It all goes back to that time when we returned to the "black garden" and made an incursion to defeat the "sanctified mind".

It was quite tough, it took us a long time to figure out the Vex mechanisms that blocked our path and how to defeat each of the machines guarding the place. Although with a little patience and brute force, we managed to overcome without major complications.

Now, do you remember when we got that weapon? "Divinity," I believe it was called.

If we thought advancing through that place was complicated, solving the puzzles and encounters to obtain it was a horrible hell. But even with all that, the fact of discovering new objects or places with each visit we made fascinated me to some extent. It was enemy territory, and one with a great historical weight for us, but the desire to discover more or to understand more about the history of the place pulsated intensely in my mind.

However, not everything was as simple as it seemed. After our triumphant return, something continued to bother me. There was a persistent feeling that the Black Garden still held secrets. Could it be possible that we had seen everything? This thought kept me up at night, and more than once I considered going back, just to explore, to discover if there was something beyond what we already knew.

So, armed with aninsatiable curiosity and an irrational desire to understand more, I began to make solo forays. The Black Garden, despite what others might think, was never a comfortable place for me. It wasn't just because of the hordes of Vex that inhabited its paths or the technological traps that lurked at every step. It was more the weight of the place's history, its dark connection to the very existence of the Darkness.

One afternoon, after a particularly fruitless exploration, I found myself in the depths of the garden, mentally reviewing the maps and patterns I had drawn on previous visits. Despite my best efforts, I had found nothing new, no forgotten artifacts or any structures we hadn't seen before. The same repetitive Vex patterns, the same infinite fractal constructions, and the same echoes of a past that seemed alien to any human understanding.

Frustrated, I was about to give up once more when something caught my attention. It was a slight vibration in the air, something barely perceptible but strange enough to stop me in my tracks. I turned slowly, my eyes scanning the surroundings carefully. There was nothing visible, no tangible change in the landscape, but that feeling... that feeling that something was amiss persisted.

I decided to follow my intuition and began walking towards the area where we had once faced the Sanctified Mind. Every step I took echoed in the oppressive silence of the Garden. As I approached, the air grew denser, almost palpable. Something was happening.

Finally, I reached the spot. Where once we had faced the imposing Sanctified Mind, now only an unsettling void remained. But there was something new, something that wasn't there before. A portal.

It wasn't thetypical Vex portal we had seen thousands of times before. This one seemed... different. The energy lines that formed it were unstable, fluctuating erratically, as if trying to conceal its true form. My instinct told me that backing away was the sensible thing to do, but curiosity was too strong.
