Bramblestar sat in front of her, looming over. "Make yourself comfortable, my dear." She said, tucking her paws under and tucking her tail to sit close. "Why did you leave camp with Ivykit? You knew how dangerous this was!" She demanded, her ears flat and her paws shifting in front of her. "I saw Ivykit following the warriors! I tried to catch her!" She said, her eyes welling with tears. "I'm sorry." She dug her muzzle into her paws. "Turtlekit, it's not your fault.Your intentions were good, but you know, Ivykit may not survive?" She said, "Starclan calls her and I cannot save her." Turtlekit sniffled. "But you saved Windclan, you can do anything!" She gasped when her mother shook her head. "Starclan willed me to do that, this time, their will is stronger." Turtlekit looked up at her. "What will you d-" Hawkgrowl appeared at the opening of the den. "It's Ivykit!" He yowled. Bramblestar scrambled to her paws, slipping from the den and across the clearing into the medicine den. Turtlekit heard her shriek and already knew what happened. She remained in the den, silent and in shock. Lionkit and Briarkit wailed as Birdpaw sat next to them right outside the den.
Turtlekit slunk from the den, managing to go unseen and into the medicine den. She nosed her sister's lifeless pelt. "Who did this.." She whispered. A whisper in her ear of her sister's voice sounded. Stay safe, my sister. Turtlekit looked around. "What?" She meowed. "Turtlekit! Go to the clearing with your siblings." Hawkgrowl hissed. She flattened her ears, why was he mad at her? She hadn't done this. She padded to the clearing but there was a crowd of warriors. Turtlekit slipped past them and instead of going to her siblings she went to the exit of camp.
She bounded in the tall grass, her paws tingling with excitement. "Where is outlook rock?" She wondered. Turtlekit bounded onto a path, seeing the tall rock. "There!" She broke into a run and climbed the steep rock with some small ridged steps that seemed to be perfect for a small cat to climb. She sat down at the top of it, looking up at the sky. It was starting to get dark and she could see the start of the silverpelt beginning to shine. She yawned, it had been a long journey for her small legs. Turtlekit curled up, laying her head down. Maybe, she would dream of Ivykit.
