Turtlepaw gasped as she turned around to see Briarpaw leaping after Hawkgrowl before he could pin her. "Leave my sister alone!" She snarled and grabbed onto their father with her claws. Hawkgrowl widened his eyes and backed into the corner of the den. "Turtlepaw i-" He began to say as she left the den with a hurt look. She padded to Echolight as patrols gathered around him. "Have you seen Bramblestar or Haresprint, Turtlepaw?" The deputy mewed. She nodded. "We were speaking at Outlook rock when a badger attacked. Haresprint has a bad wound and Sparrowfeather and Bramblestar are watching over him. We are afraid the badger will return. Can we have two or three warriors to help get Haresprint to camp or to guard, whichever Bramblestar decides?" She mewed. "Indeed. Waspear, Birdpaw and Yellowwhisker will go with you." The three stepped forwards. "I'll take them, thank you, Echolight." Turtlepaw nodded at the three and bounded from camp, leading back to the rock. "Your back." Bramblestar gathered up to her paws. "May I speak to you?" Turtlepaw looked at her mother.
Turtlepaw sat in front of her mother and sighed. "I want to become a medicine cat." She admitted. She wanted to tell her about Hawkgrowl but she just couldn't. Her heart ached, she wanted to talk to Brackenpaw but she couldnt. Bramblestar purred. "My daughter, a medicine cat! I'm so proud!" Sparrowfeather padded over. "Turtlepaw a medicine cat! Starclan must accept!" He purred then turned to Bramblestar. "The warriors wish to bring their fellow to camp, it will get dark soon and we have no idea if the badger is set to return to its home tonight." He mewed. "Yes, have Waspear and Yellowwhisker carry him and Birdpaw and you ensure he doesn't fall in any way. We'll be just behind, I need to talk to Turtlepaw some more." Sparrowfeather nodded and padded away. Turtlepaw sat down again. "Birdpaw told me something happened in the medicine den, Briarpaw was madder than a badger when she left. What happened? Tell me the honest truth." Bramblestar said, her tail flicking.
Bramblestar and Turtlepaw padded back into camp at about moonhigh. "Go to the medicine den and sleep, i'll speak to him and announce it to the clan in the morning." Her mother mewed. Turtlepaw yawned and trotted to the medicine den. She found a vole laying in a nest which had fresh moss and new feathers in it. She purred and ate the vole before curling up in her nest and falling asleep.
