Chapter one

Ever wondered how your life could suddenly change in one day? My name is Katie Tucker.  I was raised by my adopted parents. It all started the summer of my freshman year of college. I just started at the University of Georgia. I just met Austin Cannon. I thought he was the love of my life. How wrong was I?
It was late in the afternoon when I went to go see Austin to surprise him. I pulled up at Austin's house. I walked inside. I walked in the living room. Then my body froze completely. I just found him cheating on me with my bestfriend Lexie.
I run out of his house as fast as I can hoping he does not follow me. Next thing I know I hear Austin yell.
" Katie came back, I'm sorry. I know I messed up. Please come back. I promise things will be different this time."
I turn toward him. I say.
" How is Austin? You have said that so many times. I am done. I have had enough. You both can have each other."
I turn to my car then open the door. Austin runs to me. Austin grabs my arm. Austin says.
" If I can't have you, no one can!"
I look at Austin. I say.
" If you still wanted me you should not have cheated on me with Lexie."
Austin grips my arm tighter. I start tearing up. I say.
" Austin let me go! You are hurting me."
Austin makes his grip tighter. Austin says.
" I don't care. You are mine!"
I jerk my arm away from him, releasing his grip. I say.
" I am not yours anymore you have Lexie. Go to her."
Lexie gets up off the couch then walks outside to me and Austin. Lexie says.

" Austin, are you coming back inside?"
I look at Lexie then I slap them both. I say.
" I wish I never met either one of you! Lexie, I thought you were my friend."
I get in my car. I drove to Dustin's house.  I pull up in Dustin's driveway. I call dustin. Five minutes later he answers. 
Hello?
Hey dustie can I stay with you for a while?
Sure what did the idiot do?
Trying to hold back the tears I don't say anything.  I lay my phone in my lap. Dustin says.
" Do I need to kill anyone? You know I can get away with it." 
I start to laugh. I say.
" Thank you Dustie. I really needed that. I need my best friend right now."
Dustin walks to the window. He sees my car outside. Little did I know Dustin had friends over. I couldn't just walk inside. We both hung up the phone. Dustin walks outside to my car. I get out of my car. I hugged him. Kevin and Collin both walk to the window. They both watch me and Dustin. They both walk outside to us. Dustin says.
" Katie, this is Collin and Kevin Landers. Kevin is in the marines with me."
As soon as Dustin sees us my eyes immediately meet with Kevins.
Kevin takes my hand then kisses it. I smile at him. I say.
"Well aren't you a gentleman."
Dustin looks at them both then pulls Collin aside. Dustin says.
" I know there's something she isn't telling me.  Should I worry?"
Collin looks at me. Collin says.
" She looks like she has been crying."
Dustin takes a deep breath. Dustin says.
" I have a feeling I know why."
Collin walks away from Dustin then walks back inside. Dustin walks  to me and Kevin. I look at Dustin. I say.
" Breathe. You look like you want to kill."
Dustin takes a deep breath.  Dustin says.
" What happened with Austin?" 
I look at Dustin. I say.
" Let's go inside before I tell you anything. Do you care to grab my things in the back seat?"
Both Dustin and Kevin take my bags from the back-seat. We walk inside Dustin's house.  They set my bags down in the back room.  Dustin walks in the kitchen. Kevin stays in the back room with me. Kevin says.
" How could a pretty girl like you wind up being so broken?" 
Katie says
" I haven't met the right one "
Kevin smiles at me .  I smile at Kevin and I talk all night until I fall asleep.
