"Genesis?" Logan's voice echoed from the living room as I finished changing into a set of red pajamas that clung to my skin like a second layer.
I smiled to myself, realizing I was looking forward to this part of the evening more and more. Who would've thought? I made a mental note to call Ronnie later to thank her.
"In my room!" I called back, quickly running a comb through my hair as I sat on the edge of the bed.
Seconds later, the door swung open, and Logan entered, his expression one of surprise as he took in my attire.
"...my fucking God," he muttered, his eyes scanning every inch of my body, lingering a bit longer on my chest.
"Now that's the appropriate response to seeing me like this. See? You're learning already!" I teased, mustering up a cheerful smile as he flopped down onto the bed beside me. Seizing the opportunity, I straddled his lap.
I couldn't help but notice how bold I was becoming with my body, and it was all thanks to the way Logan looked at me. He made me feel things I never thought I would again.
Things I had sworn off.
"You're in a good mood," he observed, a grin playing on his lips.
"Well, I kind of missed you," I admitted. "You're basically the only person I see every day, and when I'm alone, I get really bored."
"Don't say that," he replied, his tone more pleading than admonishing.
"Why not?"
"Because you being here already makes it difficult for me to leave and do my job. If you say you miss me, I'm never leaving your side."
"Oh, come on. Plus, I have a reason to be very thankful tonight."
"Really?" he raised an eyebrow.
"So... something happened today," I began, trying to be mysterious.
"Did it?" he prompted.
"Yeah."
"What happened?"
"Alexa came here, and we chatted about what my next move should be. She said a couple of very interesting things."
"Like what?"
"Like the fact that you two have already met."
"I didn't think it would be a relevant fact," Logan shrugged.
"Then she said that you pleaded with her for me to come live with you," I exaggerated, making him roll his eyes. I felt his hands move to my hips.
"I didn't plead, I suggested," he corrected.
"You didn't want me to be sent off to Europe," I accused playfully.
"I didn't," he admitted quickly. "We had just met, and I was intrigued by you. I wasn't trying to get rid of you. I wanted you close."
"You're so into me," I teased.
"Guilty."
"Anyways, I thought it was very..."
"Creepy?"
"I was gonna go with risky and cute," I confessed. "No one has ever done that for me. No one has ever been interested in me like that."
"You're lying."
"I'm not. Every friend or boyfriend I've ever had has never gone to such lengths for me. And you didn't even knew me! You still have so much to learn about me. And I about you."
Logan's expression softened as he listened.
"It's just... different with you," I confessed, locking eyes with him. "I've never felt this... valued before... as a friend, of course," I added, a faint blush rising to my cheeks as I reminisced about our friends with benefits arrangement.
